Who said we ever left it?

You're making a common authoritarian mistake; while it is true that the Constitution is both the first and the last word when it comes to U.S. law, it is far from the only word.

The role of the U.S. military -- what it can and more importantly cannot be used for is well established. Erasing 200+ years of precedent and sound governing simply because you want x, you want y, or you want z, is hardly a prudent idea.
Gee, it’s almost as if you don’t want the military to be patrolling our streets?

Wouldn’t that be a Law & Order utopia?

YHWH's word is the first and last word; and the godless have their own words. So you're partially correct.

I'd be willing to just have them stop patrolling the streets of foreign nations; and ...you know...defend our borders from invasion.

People coming to this country to become Americans too, “invasion”?
Your hyperbole is showing.

So now you deny that illegals are even invading our country?

Your agenda is showing.

Then let us work together to fix the immigration-system so that you’re safe from this invasion and these people get a fair shake in our country?

I guess you chose to overlook "... when it comes to U.S. law..." in spite of quoting it.

Can't say I'm surprised.

No, no, no... YHWH says sic the army on them; that's all there is to it.

The far bigger immigration issue—that no one addresses—is what to do with the millions of undocumented immigrants who are already living here. And in many cases have been here for years. I’ve heard estimates from 11 million to 30 million. Rounding up, prosecuting, and deporting even the low-end numerical estimate of these folks is a logistical impossibility (not to mention a humanitarian disaster.) The article estimates at least 6 million undocumented persons have ITIN numbers. They’re working and paying federal, state, and local taxes, funding benefits for which they’re ineligible.

Undocumented immigrants pay billions in taxes each year — and have been for 25 years

The only reasonable approach is for Congress to pass an updated version version of S.744. Which passed the Senate in 2014 with bipartisan support. The House—calling it an amnesty—refused even to debate it. It strengthens border security (including the construction of over 700 miles of physical barrier.) And it provides a pathway to legal status (and eventual citizenship) for working, tax paying, and otherwise law-abiding undocumented immigrants.

BTW, what’s wrong with amnesty for deserving persons who contribute to our society?

Not to mention economic hara-kiri.

Immigrant Farmworkers and America's Food Production - 5 Things to Know - FWD.us

"Undocumented farm workers make up approximately 50% of the farm labor workforce. Without their hard work, millions of pounds of food would otherwise go unharvested. While these workers pay taxes and contribute to the economy, they are not protected by U.S. labor laws, and they live every day under the threat of arrest and family separation – all while working in extremely difficult conditions.

Despite lacking a legal immigration status, these workers and their families have lived in the United States for a long time. In general, the majority of undocumented immigrants have lived in the U.S. for more than ten years."

When "illegal" labor is the backbone of your industry, what does that say about your industry?

Say what?
Ending the misappropriation of funds is good for the country.

And Trump should have though his actions through. Anything that he signed into law through executive order can just as easily be overturned by the next President.

From what I understand the funds from the Pentagon weren’t diverted from weapons, or weapons development but from construction projects at our bases, around the world, for OUR CITIZEN SOLDIERS, (support the troops), but they’re on their own on where to sleep because “The Wall” is more important than they.

Absolutely. We need immigrants. And not just to work jobs American citizens don’t want. Sure, they send part of their earnings to their home countries. But immigrants also spend money here for the necessities of living. A healthy economy needs all the consumers it can get. Like most advanced 1st world countries, our native population growth is slow. Immigration is how we became a populous nation. Our population in the 1870 census was 38.5 million. By 1920, it was 106.5 million. Natural births alone can’t account for this level of population increase. This is the late 19th/early 20th century wave of European immigration. And it’s part of what makes us a great nation.

I doubt that either Donald or his followers were giving much thought to there ever being a "next president."

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. border agents in recent months arrested two Yemeni men on a terror watchlist in separate incidents as they crossed the border with Mexico illegally, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced on Monday.

U.S. arrested two Yemenis on terror watchlist who tried to cross border from Mexico

Legally, terrorist interdiction is a domestic issue in the purview of Homeland Security and the DoJ. It’s not the business of the Pentagon.

So in your view, technically we should have sent Homeland Security and the DoJ to the Middle East?
