Facebook's Oversight Board upholds ban on Trump. At least for now.
Facebook’s Oversight Board on Wednesday upheld the social network’s ban on former president Trump for encouraging violence following the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, a decision that holds major implications for how the speech of political leaders should be policed online.

But the 20-member Oversight Board, which is largely independent and funded by the social network, also left open the door for Trump’s return. The expert panel took issue with Facebook’s “indefinite” suspension of Trump, calling it “vague and uncertain.” It sent the decision back to Facebook and said it had six months to clarify Trump’s punishment and come up with a response that fits its known rules.

why have they not been sued over this infringement of rights?
Because there is no right to have a Facebook account. You agree to follow their rules when you sign up and you agree that they can take action against you if you break the rules.

You're right. It's ironic to hear some people complain about Facebook permanently banning a member when CF does the same thing whenever a contentious member repeatedly violates a site rule.

Facebook has issued temporary bans on other private citizens (I know two or three people who had temporary bans; I can't remember how long, and they didn't seem to know what rule they broke).

Since other private citizens have been temporarily banned, I don't think that lawyers can launch successful lawsuits on Mr. Trump, a private citizen under criminal investigation in Georgia and Manhattan (NYC) for substantial tax fraud, campaign payoffs to two former mistresses in return for their silence, and more; and for election interference in Georgia.

Mr. Trump, a private citizen, has probably violated certain rules for which other private citizens have been banned. If anything, I imagine that they were probably far more lenient with Mr. Trump, because the two or three people I know who had temporary bans had used maybe one cuss word or some similarly trivial infraction.

It's too much freedom within the hands of big tech companies and I think that's the main worry over this in general. The fact is that Trump isn't the only person being censored, but many conservatives are as well, all across social media. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc. is where people are being censored for their opinions (again conservative) while I've seen many examples of leftists posting horrible things without any consequences even though they do violate the rules most of these big tech companies put out.

There's a clear bias here. It's hypocritical and dishonest and it's obvious how this is and will continue to be used for political gain.

Can you name any Democratic legislators whose FB behavior would be comparable to Lauren Boerbert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, or Donald Trump?

I looked at AOC's FB page. It either discusses legislation she is sponsoring or co-sponsoring or public service announcements of charitable programs to help people in her district.

I looked at Maxine Waters' FB page. There was an op-ed she wrote for the LA Times explaining her Minnesota speech in connection with the peaceful civil rights movement typified by Martin Luther King. Everything else was involving legislation.

I looked at Cori Bush's FB page. She had nice comments about Jewish-American heritage month and other cultural events, and advocacy for causes that are necessary and just.

I then looked at Boerbert's page. A video: "Why I Will Carry My Glock to Congress."

I then looked at Taylor-Greene. "Drain the swamp." "Stop Socialism." Sponsor of "Honey Badger Gun Giveaway." (I kid you not.) She even cheered on the Louisville restaurant customer who drew his gun because he saw black customers he assumed were BLM. (Discussed in another thread right now).

Because Trump is no longer on FB I can't access his information.

I did look at Donald Trump, Jr.'s FB page. Lots of videos of Trump on television shows speaking his mind. I suppose that's a way they can circumvent the FB ban.

But he has launched his very own platform where he can bloviate to his heart's content and no one can talk back!
From the Desk of Donald J Trump

When he says "contribute" he means cash. It's still automatically pre-checked to contribute monthly and to contribute extra.

why have they not been sued over this infringement of rights?

Because Facebook is not the US Government and the right to free speech as guaranteed in the Constitution applies only the government not infringing it or making laws against it.

And yet for 4 years the United States government was run from a Twitter account.

Because the democrats would just have it thrown out of court liek they did with all the evidence of the election fraud. AOC would probably call up the court and say "YOU'RE CANCELLED!!!"
