Spent Pascha at the local Greek church in town and it's made me miss the Slavic style chant. Plus the priest only said it in English and GreekTruly He is risen.
We saw in the resurrection at a Russian Skete this year, and I have to say, the Russians have the Greeks beat when it comes to a joyous resurrection hymn. I am now committed to learning it in Russian
Christ is risen and the priest is dead! Not really, just exhausted.Christ is risen, and there is none dead in the tombs!
It was my first Pascha this year, I really enjoyed the triumphant service! So much better than the "here's a chocolate egg" that I'm used to from Western Easter...
I was raised in an evangelical Christian home where we 'packed a pew' on church cleaning night. My dad was a deacon, my mom taught Sunday School and I was not allowed to live in their house and miss a service. We went to every midnight watch-night and sunrise service at our church. He is risen indeed!
