Hi I’m new to the forum and would appreciate feedback. I believe I am a spiritual battle that has been overwhelming but increasing my faith and drawing me closer to my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ and the word of God.

My dreams are very vivid and often come true not always straight away but eventually. More recently I not only have dreams but visions and thoughts that come true. I have been having repetitive dreams of men trying to fight me or attack me. Also faces of past men I have dated appear in my dream.
Edited due to sensitivity of post - thanks all for replies God bless you

A bit of background I have been praying and fasting for marriage and my future husband for years. I have no positive examples of marriage or family in my family. My background is seperation, dysfunction and a history of occult practice (the latter revealed in dreams). Whenever I get into a relationship with the goal of marriage I notice a sudden break down of communication in all of them and they end for no reason. The pattern has repeated for years. I’ve intensified prayer about this.

My dreams are very vivid and often come true not always straight away but eventually. More recently I not only have dreams but visions and thoughts that come true. I have been having repetitive dreams of men trying to fight me or attack me. Also faces of past men I have dated appear in my dream. I think it’s a way to get me to submit to them using their faces? Prior to this they were dreams of trying to sleep with me but I have prayed intensely against these and pleaded the blood of Jesus and they are nearly down to zero.

About a year ago I put two prospects names in my bible and prayed about them as advised by a church leader. Surprisingly The one I didn’t really like as much and weren’t talking to at the time I would dream of a lot. The dreams I had of him were almost to put me off him. I was even told in the dream by family members it’s not him (not the right one). Friends in the dream would also try to sabotage the relationship. I felt it was an attack and eventually he came back into my life and we were on speaking terms. We started dating, got on well and the dreams became better but some attack dreams still present. In one dream he mentioned my gift I think to use it. Anyway like previous relationships this pattern has emerged again and the more I pray generally to increase my faith or about him the worst my dreams get.

Last night I was so down and didn’t want to go to prayer service but my uncle persisted I go and the message was so strong on restoration and spoke to my situation I felt encouraged and ready to launch in prayer. I was glad I went but that night I had a bad dream about the guy. He was cold and womanizing. Could this be a strategy of the enemy to make me weary?
Dreaming is an escape mechanism. Talking to or writing to real men might be more productive than dreaming reruns of failed relationships and meeting sinful men in dreams.

About 4.5 years ago I was doing online dating. I wrote messages to women, called women and met women for coffee, lunch, supper, going to the beach etc. I met some nice women. I did not believe I should marry any of them or accept any of them as a room mate. I was negotiating with a young widow, but balked quite frequently and did not have a plan for our lives together. After a few months of dating she let me know she was seeing someone else. End relationship. This past year a woman I had been texting and calling years ago sent me a text. We started talking. I told her I was only interested in companionship. One day she told me she wanted to get married. I told her once again I am not interested in marriage. She has not called or texted since. I am in my 60’s. I had dating opportunities, an offer to share a home, but remained alone. Since Jesus and Paul were single, I can not say marriage is the only way to salvation. Lately I pray for celibacy having been celibate about 15 years. In dating I only got so far before either I or the woman shut the relationship down. A few told me they wanted sex. I refused their offers. Fortunately I like to read and write. The Internet is a God send.

Welcome. In my humble opinion, your focus on men and relationships far exceeds your focus on our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Time to focus on Him only and your dreams will stop haunting you. Be blessed,

It could be that you are yourself conflicted.

Fortunate that you remember dreams. Many of us are not so favored.

Make sure that you are surrendered to the Lord in this area. You should not have to fight this battle without Him. You should be abiding in His peace as you navigate forward. See the end of James 3 for the characteristics of God's wisdom - purity, peace, open to reason, etc, and the end of Mt 11 for Jesus' invitation to rest

I guess working on what I can control in real life and giving the rest to God makes sense

Based on what you wrote, you have a fear of relationships and intimacy. I would recommend getting some counseling from a professional therapist.

Thank you

Christian advice is wonderful, and meaningful at times. However deep rooted issues sometimes needs professional help. Open forums like this really aren't suited for struggles like your going through.
Also you may ask your pastor for recommendations for a Christian therapist.
However many strong Christian have discontinued their practices due to legalities with dealing with such issues as homosexuality.

God Bless.

Jesus never said, "this one is too tough for me", and sent someone to a "professional", He is the second person of the Trinity who created in the beginning, you can't get more "professional" than being THE Creator.
We have not because we ask not, we ask and receive not because we ask amiss, if He is coming in this situation to heal and restore the problem is not on His end.
I know Dr. Caroline Leaf, with 4 phd's says "most people don't think about what they think about", keep all our thoughts pure and focused on Christ and no un-Godly thoughts can manifest.
Her, and others work in neuroplasticity reveal how EVERY thought we have produces a protein like structure in the brain, good thoughts and bad thoughts. The bad thoughts that are not in line with the Galatians 5 attributes produce an impure structure that produces negative neuropeptides, the ones in line with Galatians 5 produce, complete, whole, correctly formed protein like structures and each of these affect a host of processes and actions in the body with the negative ones capable of unlocking recessive genes for sickness and disease. Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk, in The Body Keeps the Score, also teaches on this.

Dr. Van Der Kolk is a psychiatrist that is now focused on post traumatic stress. His book on traumatic stress is an excellent book. I have also read The Body Keeps the Score, also a good book.
He merely confirms what the bible says, "what a man thinks, is what he is."
Dr. Leak has two excellent books, Switch on your brain, and Think and eat yourself smart.
Your implication is that someone suffering only needs to pray and ask Jesus to heal is wrong. If that was the case Christians would never get sick, never have emotional problems because they would be healed. I agree that we need to keep our minds pure, and seek the Lords help and guidance, but there is also a need professional help at times.
Neuropeptides are synthesized from large, inactive proteins called prepropeptides. It is my understanding the thought patterns can't really change neuropeptides structure, I do know there are debates about that and since I'm not a neurologist I'm not qualified to give an opinion.
What we do know is that most people the commit horrible crimes first started playing with negative thoughts continually until they manifested into actions.

Blessings in Christ Jesus! Perhaps it is time that you slept in peace. Tonight when you pray renounce any and all occult connections you may of had in the past before The Lord. Just because occult dablings has been stopped, does not mean the demons just go away. They have permission still. And yes they can see giftings. It's really is that simple. It is The Lord that will provide the one for you in it's season. I say it's season, because both must be prepared first. In the mean time, keep drawing close to The Lord, for this will serve you well all the days of your life. Have a Blessed Day!

Sister, I have not read all the posts yet, but GTW's is impressive. And yes, first and foremost you need to renounce the occult as well as any spirits that may still be latent within you. Until any demons are dealt with you are not prepared for a marriage of any kind, for the demon will only tear it apart. Moreover, this might be why your dreams suggest the man is/would be still fighting with you. If he is a true man of God, he will not allow any demon to interfere with the relationship, and if you have not yet renounced it, this will make you a defender of the very spirit he knows stands in the way of his potential marriage with you.

I could likely counsel you more here, but it would have to be in private, as this is clearly a personal matter and not something you would want to discuss in public.

Your servant in Christ Jesus, should you need me.

Wow. What a fascinating conversation piece!

Now, I have not checked out your links yet because I went straight to your list and assumed it might be coming from them.

Let me ask you... Wow, this is quite fascinating. I am an interpreter of dreams and I recognize some of this, but then I have also seen imagery in dreams that are references to marriage but deal with "marriages" in ministry, if you will; partnerships. I can't say as this is "sinful" imagery when there is nothing sexual being generated by the relationship; only a partnership in ministry of sorts.

You are free to disagree with this, however, meaning I would not take offense should you disagree. I rarely find others who have experience enough in the area to discuss such things intelligently.

I'll try to check out your links in awhile, and thank you for your post. I HAVE seen a few dreams posted by Christians that were clearly sinful, and were being interpreted by them as meaning that they were supposed to marry some married man and such. It was one of the reasons I got out of interpreting for "the masses" for a few years, and focused more on interpreting for those I knew truly had the Spirit of God in them and would be receiving from the right Source.

God bless,

Amazing. I thought your first link here might be trite when I first started reading it, but it is not.

Let me start here. I will confess this because for one thing I have always been a humble man and not afraid to admit my failings. For another I LOVE the subject of interpretation of dreams, and anything having to do with it that is of quality will draw my attention instantly.

I HAD one of these "marriages" for about three years. There was a break in between of about a year and a half, but it was clearly of this nature. I believe it happened because of two reasons. She I believe had a part of her that truly loved God, but she also had a very powerful demon in her that among other things was very seductive and drew me in. And that demon did indeed threaten my real life marriage. I was smitten out of my socks for this woman. The other reason was because I was lonely in my spiritual life. I was just discovering my spiritual gifts and excited to meet her, because she shared my interests and also appeared to receive from God, and we got along extremely well and made each other laugh a lot. So it filled a void that my real life marriage was not filling for me spiritually, and my spiritual life is what I live for, completely.

To make a long story short, I was oblivious to the fact that the demon was actually the one driving the relationship until just recently, and have since renounced the sexual and passionate sides of my relationship with her. But the thing is, I still consider this sister to be a very good friend. I care about her, but as a sister in the Lord Jesus Christ, so simply distancing myself from her doesn't seem to be the "answer" in Christ, especially now that I am in a place where I could truly help her instead of being sucked in by that spirit again.

But let me say something else. During this time I also had a "partnership" going with another sister in dream ministry, and it was NOTHING like the previous relationship. It was purely business, but we did greatly enjoy working with each other, and it was most certainly a "marriage" of sorts in that we worked together night and day for more than a year, and received some of the most ASTOUNDING revelations from God through dreams and interpretation that you could imagine. Looking back I am just stunned at what we did now.

But that relationship just ended for reasons that would be too lengthy to explain. In short, the enemy freaked her out so badly as a result of engaging in spiritual warfare that she just titled mentally on me and decided she wanted no more part of prophetic dream ministry for awhile.

This is why I find the subject tremendously interesting. I believe there can be partnerships where the imagery of marriage is used in a clean way, but I also believe that spirits can get involved and turn what God might have wanted to be clean into something dirty and perverted, and only the Spirit of God will be able to sort it out.

Your thoughts are welcome, as I am thankful for the links. Very thought-provoking.

Blessings in Christ Jesus our Lord,
Hidden In Him
