CNN Technical Director admits the network was pushing propaganda with fake stories

From the msn article:

  • "The video below shows CNN technical director Charlie Chester discussing the networks strategy of getting Trump out of office and the 'propaganda' they used to make it seem like Trump was mentally and physically ill."

Curious that what so many people were saying during 2020 is now being admitted in part by CNN sources themselves.

Interesting that would surprise anybody. CNN clearly supported Biden. Fox News clearly supported Trump. One or the other could be said about 80% of the news sources out there, particularly the ones in the "news as entertainment" arena.

CNN, while never pretending to be balanced, took a sharp turn to the left in the early 2000s. I typically refer to it derogatorily as ONN, for Obama News Network. It feels like the network practically worships the ground he walks on, and has done so ever since he announced his bid for U.S. Senate. It's no surprise that it would be very hostile towards Trump and his presidency.

A news source (AKA all news sources) resorted to airing propaganda, half-truths, or even all lies, etc.....wow, who would have thought LOL.

The surprise for me would be that the masses were not already aware this was going on.

If this were true, why do detractors of CNN care when they watch/read Fox News, OAN, Newsmax and other sources that have a clear right-wing bias? It's not like you're a bunch of people into BBC (the news channel), Reuters and the Associated Press. You hardly see articles from those sources posted here.

So CNN is unbiased in your opinion?

It has to do with what Project Veritas caught this guy saying. Is CNN unbiased in your opinion?
That's irrelevant as this organization has been caught lying multiple times, so they are unreliable when it comes to telling the truth. Moreover, if those harping on media bias complain about CNN, yet hardly read or post sources from the likes of BBC, AP, Reuters, etc., then your complaints are simply disingenuous as media bias is not important to you.

Thanks for not answering the question. You probably don't want to answer because you know CNN is guilty of the exact same things you accuse Fox of doing. I'm not in the business of defending a New Channel or massive corporation, I'll only point out that CNN is incredibly biased in the selection of it's stories and what it chooses as the narrative.

Thus when you complain about Fox news or any right leaning outlet it rings hollow. Especially when in the defense of CNN you have to go straight to calling out Fox. That isn't a defense of CNN, it's just a Tuquoque. Because Fox New is biased and dishonest, therefore it doesn't matter that CNN is, only that it is less so.

Why not give up cable news entirely and just watch an independent online personality. You would probably like this guy called Vaush.

"Make it seem" like Trump was mentally and physically ill? I have absolutely no doubt that virtually all of the mainstream media, and certainly the specialty news broadcasters, sincerely believed that Trump is physically and mentally ill.

350 psychiatrists warned Congress:
350 health professionals sign letter to Congress claiming Trump's mental health is deteriorating dangerously amid impeachment proceedings

Psychology Today weighed in:
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-time-cure/201709/the-dangerous-case-donald-trump

Is it "propaganda" to promulgate the truth and the media outlet has tons of corroborating evidence to support their case? Especially when the corroborating evidence is his own behavior, widely available on video at rallies, news briefings, etc.?

I would never have believed a news source stating Trump was mentally ill if it was not supported by my own seen and heard experience of him over the past four years, and I sincerely believe that they were trying to save our country, not spread propaganda.

I would hope most folks in the US know by now, the media's primary goal is not to inform the people, help the people, or save our country. The media is a business and as such, its primary goal is to make make money.

I'm not answering the question because you ignored what I wrote and expected me to answer your question. Those complaining about media bias do not care about media bias, so why pretend as if they are some neutral entity? Especially given their track record of lying, why take any of their work at face value? That's just laughable.

I'm not neutral and neither are you. That being said I don't expect you to answer anything.

Maybe start another thread about it. This one is about CNN. Not if conservatives treat news sources impartially

The argument is that CNN is biased in their reporting or something similar. The group calling this out cannot be trusted due to previous cases where they make a claim based on edited and fabricated videos. Why should we believe them now when they've been caught lying multiple times? Besides that, they and their followers do not care about media neutrality, so why pretend as if this is an important issue?

If CNN is biased, why does it matter given the bias of Project Veritas and their own use and promotion of biased media,?
