To be fair, your post is more of a reductio ad absurdum than @renniks.

Consider:

• In the Russian Federation, and before it came about, in the Sovietsky Soyuza, there are “Internal Passports” that everyone above a certain age (14 I think) must carry to travel around the country, and also as the standard form of identification if stopped by the police. This coupled with the requirement when relocating to another town, even for a temporary extended visit, to register with the local police (or in Soviet times, the Militsya), created the means by which the NKVD and its various successors were able to keep track of the large population.
• Many countries require a Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever. I myself have such a certificate; it has now expired, but I believe recent tests determined that one vaccination is sufficient for life, so getting re-inoculated is no longer required.

This is a profoundly misleading argument. Sadly, this kind of argument works because people are mentally lazy - they read "98% survival" and say to themselves "golly that sounds pretty harmless". And then they do not do what we so desperately need people to do: think, think, think.

To anyone not living under a rock, the survival rate is not the only issue. In fact, it may not even be the most important issue. The problem is overloading a health care system.

Do I need to do the math? With such a contagious virus, if we take no countermeasures, it will sweep through the populace like wildfire. And if even only 3% need to go to the hospital, that is millions of extra people going to the hospital than before Covid.

This overtaxes the health care system, not to mention the mental toll it takes on health care workers.

Besides it is interesting, and no doubt not a coincidence that you characterize the virus as having a 98% survival rate. I could turn that around and point out that if only 100,000,000 Americans ever get Covid, that means 2 million deaths.

People do not think of how small a percentage a thing is when whipping out what they believe are huge numbers in relation to the whole.

It was not misleading at all, 2 weeks to flatten the curve was observed, we gave them a inch and they took a mile, and it turned out to be an entire year watching them destroy businesses and the economy while we had priviledge of watchingg all the empty hospitals videos showing empty waiting rooms, parking lots, and nurses and doctors demonstrating their twerking abilities for us.

Why not mention the top strictest Democrat states before Florida? Florida has by default the most retireees. People who are far more suseptible and did pretty well considering. New York allowed those beautiful protests (most of whom did not whine about their rights so much) but exercised them and brutally stamped upon everyone elses, thats a big mitigation failure as well as moving covid positive patients in with the elderly and killing them that too is a failure of mitigation but lets talk about Florida?

So it will be 95% effective in the rest of the 99% of the U.S population that will survive it anyway (without hospitalization) BUT it could also have severe side effects the smallest percentage part of the 99% of people (who will never die or be hospitalized by the virus) which again makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Why on earth subject yourself to an untested vaccine (or whatever it is) which has no long term studies, no liability of harm on their part (who created it) and which might not even protect you or anyone else, and you still have to wear a mask and distance, none of this makes any sense whatsoever except it being a mass test of the populations dumbed down status (?)

Staying alive via modern medical research is not being "dumbed down", it is the best means found so far to protect your God-given life. 562,000+ Americans have died so far from COVID-19; I don't plan to be one of them.

The vaccines being used are extensively tested and found to be extremely effective against the virus. IMHO it is dumb to risk the life that God gave you and that Satan is trying to take away.

The funeral parlors are stretched beyond capacity, with refrigerated trucks handling the overflow.

Gotcha, I see people in grocery stores wearing the same ones Nancy Pelosi wears which are found on Etsy, I'm sure they provide much more protection then these others (although they do not claim to protect anyone either) they look nice. They have become more of a fashion statement (virtue signalling type thing). Still a chain link fence.

More peope die of heart disease each year, and yes there was a huge wave of videos by many people throughout the U.S posting those videos and I watched more then a few of them. Just because you might have missed them doesnt mean they did not exist.

What you posted doesn't look to be a medical mask, so of course, it's not going to work fully. However, it will mostly block the particles that come from your mouth and nose that the Covid virus attaches to.

They, being medical masks, are used in every operating room and surgical center to prevent you, the patient from contracting a virus from the surgeon or their team. As someone else said, it protects others from you if you are asymptomatic and don't know that you have the virus.

Masks work and are proven time and time again to work.

The mask shortage was not and peope wore what they could find, that one was understood earlier on.

Most people I see where Etsy seller masks and they do nothing, but some people might commend them for saving the world by them.

The harcore class wears two or three masks or more, makes sense because I know that sometimes when we double up on the hog wire or chicken wire to protect the animals that second layer it creates a tighter weave against predators.

You do realize that the majority of masks worn by the public in stores requiring a mask wear the ones that will not protect anyone, like Nancy Pelosi's Etsy masks (which match every outfit she wears). There are also the counterfeit KN95 masks, 60% of those masks are in the U.S. And the CDC was not reccomending N95 masks for nonhealthcare settings as they were reserved for healthcare workers. You also have men with facial hair that wear masks that really wont help because of that. And they advise against gaps and thats about all you see, don't see how it can help but people will differ on opinion as doctors and industrial hygenists all seems to also.

Yes, 2 % is a small percentage. Let's say that without interventions of any kind, 50% of the US population would ultimately contract Covid-19 (a conservative estimate, I believe). Now suppose only 1% die.

That is 1.65 million human beings dead. Not to mention those who survive but experience long term complications, the scope and nature of which are still unclear.

It appears you wish to be willing to sacrifice 1.65 million people to protect the health of the economy.

Is this what you are saying? If not, exactly what are you saying?
