Hi there,

So just in terms of my fundamental belief, how is my foundation doing? I believe in Jesus, true and I am always going to believe in Jesus, true. That means I will fundamentally takes His words to heart and attempt to apply them, in whatever context I can. The extension of this, is that I begin to look more and more like Jesus, to the world - the world hates this, but there is no argument against it, because there is no argument against Jesus. You can establish then, that if you have seen something of Jesus anywhere it is of importance and relevance to me. Only what does this mean to an Evolutionist?

The point is that Jesus is returning to rule, He will be setting the standard for the human species and if we live or die, it will be up to His Father, as always. But is there something, anything, that would wipe Jesus out, even all of us, under His rule. Have we reached a level of confidence in His life beyond "Death", that there is at least one selection pressure that will not touch us, being the selection of the cross, for one Death to be for all Death and so bring the selection pressure on the basis of Death to an end? Tell me! What selection pressure is there, that will undo what Christ has done? Sin has received sacrifice, righteousness has received freedom, judgment has received power! Corruption is last of all!

If everyone died, maybe? Maybe then, Jesus would leave this world? Or would He create life again, to satisfy His will! How would you know, there are people believing in Jesus everywhere, everyday the message spreads - even those who only hear of it, tingle in their ears! There is something transformative, about coming together in faith, we become more able, more empowered, the fear of being obsolete is converted to optimism that we will be able to communicate the power of Jesus to the world, we no longer ask those with us to show us their failings, their weakness to pressure, that could be praise to God. We simply ask that those with us praise God, for all that they have. There is no second guessing why, we simply know that God has loved us, even before we have become what power through Evolution would enable.

But in all this, there is a pay off: there is a point at which we are satisfied to praise God, passing up potential Evolution, so that we are able to praise the more. This is what it is to pass on to the next life, if we have nothing between us and God, there is no selection pressure which can encourage us to keep fighting with selection pressure. Christ wins! We will serve Him in eternity and selection pressures will follow after us, having died in the Lord to ensure that the Way, Truth and Life of the Lord have yielded praise unto Him. This is power. It will ever accelerate, ever charge, we will change and not have to change again, but will have our place in the Light, that makes all change possible. It will be an intenser constancy, than Evolution on its own can develop. Pain will cease. Joy will abound.

Do you seek to change, if you have joy?

And if no selection pressure can slow you down, what do you have?

These are the things, God with His Son can rejoice in!

Wow.
Your post has ziltch to to with your title. And neither has any connection to your poll.

What selection pressure, would wipe Jesus out?
Lets start be establishing a population size, and an environment.
How many Jesus' are there?
What is their environment?
Now, what does your population of Jesus' need to thrive?

There is one Jesus.

It was suggested that He die once and for all.

Death died.

There is now no death left, that could refuse Jesus any adaptation He desires.

Of there is only one Jesus, then the entire species will become extinct as soon as it dies.
The selection pressure is therefore a lack of a mate with which to reproduce.

Death was never alive.
Death continues to exist.

The Lord doesn't change, but He could want it for us!
God doesn't endorse macroevolution, but for the record, you did say "microevolution," which is adaptation.

Um... Pilate did kill Jesus. Why is that not an option in your poll?
No, he didn't.

Our sins killed Him.

John 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Jesus uttered seven sayings from the Cross.

In the very middle one, Jesus cries out:

Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

That is the point at which He appropriated our sins on Himself.

And according to the 69th Psalm, which says ...

Psalm 69:20a Reproach [sins] hath broken my heart;

... that is the moment on the Cross when His heart literally exploded in His chest cavity.

Yet, literally operating without a heart, He goes on to make three more utterances over a period of time.

No ... when the time came, Jesus said, "It is finished" and gave up the ghost.

I am off a bit I suppose. Pilate saw that to kill Jesus was not just but he literally and figuratively washed his hands of it. In my estimation he is still responsible for Jesus' crucifixion just as any Governor of a state is responsible for the execution of a person even if he believes it may be unjust personally. So, yes, Pilate did in fact kill Jesus by way of his own soldiers.

If I were a Christian, I would say that sin is the reason he resurrected. ;) But since that didn't happen... It was Pilate.

To that end, I agree.

The question I have to ask was it our sin who killed Jesus or was it Adams, because really it was Adam who got us into this mess (although he tried to blame Eve).

Technically anything could have killed Jesus as He came to earth in human form, but the Gospel says he chose to die.

your whole post does not make sense at all
none of this "evolving" nonsense is found in Bible , we get resurrected bodies which I guess are the upgrade but thats it , we do not change nor can have sex or anything to reproduce it's finall deal after we get these. These do not even have blood to begin with.
And no we cannot we "wiped" out we become immortal and moreover we rule with Christ not he is ruling alone, Christ is King of Kings but we're Kings and there are people under us.

I think it was all of our sins, but included our sin nature as well.

I once heard that, when you see the word "sin" in the Bible as singular, it is mainly a reference to our sin nature; and when you see "sins" (plural), it is a reference to our individual sins.

Now this has to take the title of 'most nonsensical of Gottservant's threads'. It really does.

Gottservant, you need to stop trying to tie in evolution and religion together, because it leaves you with a mess that you cannot and will not wrap your head around. They are two separate things and are completely different to the other; with evolution being the study of a biological fact of a science, and religion being a set of belief systems.
They aren't the same thing.

I like how "Optimistic" has evolved to mean 'good luck with that'.

An evolved choice, is informed by the alternatives that compete with it.

It won't be long from now, that you begin to realise, no one is at the wheel - of the ship Evolution is trying to run.
