Trump says companies playing to 'woke cancel culture' over Ga. election bill, calls for boycott

Is this the same "Donald J Trump" who once portrayed himself as the "Golden Boy" of Wall Street - whose deep understanding of American business and personal connections with its leaders would guarantee economic prosperity as long as he remained in office!

...You do realize boycotts are a perfectly fine form of protest, right? Not like cancel culture, which targets individuals and ruins their lives directly.

I'm glad they pointed out what stripe it, although it might have been fun to have people boycotting stripes. The 'word' being intergrity, I assume? A new one for the official Trump Dicshunary.

What is the difference between Trump's call for boycotts and "woke culture." The only thing I see is hypocrisy -- denouncing "woke culture" while they engage in it.

...while seething with envy that they'll never be good at it.

Perfectly fine according to whom?

Stephen Miller tweeted a photo of Trump declaring boycotts 2 or 3 days ago and there was an open coke bottle hiding behind the phone. So, I guess he's not really boycotting coke. You would think he would put it on the floor or something out of view.

Of course Trump isn’t going to follow through on any boycott he calls for. That would require patience and self-restraint, two things he has always lacked.

I mean, does anyone think Trump is going to stop eating McDonalds?

Common western culture.

It's a perfectly normal thing to do... Something that's been going on here in the West for hundreds of years for sure, probably longer.

..."Canceling" individuals, though, resembles something draconian to the average Westerner. It's more like something you would have expected to see in what was formerly known as the USSR.

I imagine this will work out about as well as the Pepsi boycott four years ago.
Or the Starbucks boycott. Or the Target boycott or the Netflix boycott or the Nike boycott.... or the, well you get the idea.

Canceling works more efficiently than boycotting, because it's scarier...

...What works best, though, is shooting people's children for their parent's mistakes... That tends to really get people to cooperate... I hope we don't adopt that tactic in the West next.

I don’t see much of a functional difference. I’d say canceling is what you call it when the boycott works.

I don’t see much of a functional difference. I’d say canceling is what you call it when the boycott works.

It functions better because Canceling targets the individuals, personally, and destroys their entire life rather than targeting mere corporations and bank accounts with random, anonymous employees.

Hitting individuals in that way is much more frightening.
