Of course Trump isn’t going to follow through on any boycott he calls for. That would require patience and self-restraint, two things he has always lacked.

I mean, does anyone think Trump is going to stop eating McDonalds?

It's a perfectly normal thing to do... Something that's been going on here in the West for hundreds of years for sure, probably longer.

..."Canceling" individuals, though, resembles something draconian to the average Westerner. It's more like something you would have expected to see in what was formerly known as the USSR.

Canceling works more efficiently than boycotting, because it's scarier...

...What works best, though, is shooting people's children for their parent's mistakes... That tends to really get people to cooperate... I hope we don't adopt that tactic in the West next.

It functions better because Canceling targets the individuals, personally, and destroys their entire life rather than targeting mere corporations and bank accounts with random, anonymous employees.

Hitting individuals in that way is much more frightening.

It might help if they set realistic standards. You can’t boycott EVERYTHING.
