Someone commented on the post on another site;

They mentioned the holy spirit drawing: Romans 10:10

This is the response to this comment:

Would agree that when it comes to looking at the word 'Faith'.

The greek word of faith is pistis -> It is a persuasion from God by His truthful promises that he speaks in and through the Lord Jesus Christ -> About eternal life, giving the holy spirit, resurrection from the dead, prayer life with God, Forgiveness, being saved to the kingdom of God/Heaven, and all of these promises are found in and through the Gospel.

So in a sense, what happens when you hear about the Gospel, you realize that Jesus Christ is the Lord, you can have a relationship with God, and the Lord Jesus Christ through faith, you can have peace with God being justified by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ a person is brought into a place of undeserved privilege.

If a person has been presented the Gospel they would be able to see these things, and if they make a choice to believe in their heart that Jesus Christ is the Lord and God raised him from the dead, they shall be saved in and through all the promises God has laid out and to the Kingdom of God.

Nothing extra, just simply belief on the Lord Jesus Christ and believing in their heart God raised him from the dead.

Only encouragement would be for people to learn about the Lord Jesus Christ and God.

Thank you for your comment.

Thank you for your comment also NomnomPizza.

The saved person has nothing to do with their being born again. Even the faith required is a gift from Almighty God -- mankind is totally helpless in this regard.

And we are absolutely unable to predict a potential brother or sister in Christ from any pool of unbelievers -- such choices defy human logic and understanding.

No one is looking for God and the reasons for his selections are an unknown mystery. If there is a test involved there is no way to cheat as there are no earthly answers.

Hello adderbolt,

So your premise is that people are saved by Gods divine choice, and no one in their life has the ability to seek God?

If this is what you are saying, why is it from your perspective that no one can go and look for God at anytime in their life?

Hello you; thank you for coming to check out this thread.

Jesus believed. There was evidence of his belief in as much as crowds formed around him hoping to be healed. His teaching drew 5,000 to listen to him in Galilee. Jesus believed enough to receive from God a multiplication of five loaves and two fish enough to feed the 5,000. When his friend Lazarus died, Jesus believed enough to pray to his father to make Lazarus come back to life.

All you need to do is believe in order to be saved.

The promise of eternal life is held out to everyone -- no exceptions (1 John 2). But no one is looking for God (Romans 3). That was true in my case -- my thinking God the creator was on vacation and that the Bible was unreliable and full of myths.

So the question becomes, 'Why in no one seeking after God?' Is mankind that debased? Is it something in the water? What?

A diligent person will find truth in the Bible. It is not all false.

God knows everything. People sought God. As the word spread about Jesus, people sought Jesus. They thought he was a prophet.

Mark 1 (WEB)
35 Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there. 36 Simon and those who were with him searched for him. 37 They found him and told him, “Everyone is looking for you.”

38 He said to them, “Let’s go elsewhere into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because I came out for this reason.” 39 He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.

In fact the Holy Bible is 'all true' -- it is not false not even down to the smallest of parts.

And Jesus said that people were seeking him out because they wanted bread -- they wanted things -- they wanted protection -- they wanted a King.

But these people were not looking for God -- they "knew" that the God of Israel and the God of the priests was in Jerusalem in the Holy of Holies in the Temple.

So people were not looking for the God that Jesus of Nazareth prayed to day after day and night after night.

Acts 16:30
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

According to the bible, one must believe first, repent of their "dead works", i.e., sin, become baptized, chrismated, and participate in the sacramental life of the Church. Any claim to the contrary leads only to contradiction.

The thief on the cross was not baptized, etc.

If you think the Holy Bible is “all true,” why don’t you offer animal sacrifices to YHWH as required in the Bible?

There are 26 sins that require the death penalty in the five books of the Bible law called the Torah in Hebrew. List of capital crimes in the Torah - Wikipedia

Not even Israel holds them to be true. They eliminated the death penalty. Their murder rate is lower than that of “Christian” America. They live longer than Americans.

Neither did the thief receive the Holy Spirit. The thief died under the old covenant.

You are saying that the unnamed thief on the cross arrived in "paradise" on that day alone and without the Holy Spirit?

So what is the spiritual destination of a human baby who perishes shortly after birth without being baptized?

(Sorry if this is taking the thread far afield)

Hello Dqhall,

What you have shared here is true. When Jesus Christ had come along teaching among the land, the law had became so corrupted. Pharsiees and Scribes: They would disregard the law, to hold their traditions instead, which caused them to have hard hearts. They stopped looking at the law because it was a reflection of the human nature and they hated it, and it also made them hate Jesus Christ.

No one had received the Holy Spirit. Not even the apostles.
