"Good people on both sides" and "We're going to the Capitol to fight like hell" mean what they say.
Ringo

Yet for some reason you don't think the words "and I'm not talking about the neo nazis and white nationalists because they should be condemned totally" and "peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard" do not mean what they say. It makes one wonder why? Could it be that there is some political bias in your listening?

I would turn that right back at you, since iluvatar is stating fact. You are stating opinion without facts.

I am absolutely not interested in debating the meaning of "is" to you. Neo-Nazi punks, chanting "Jews will not replace us" and wearing swastikas traveled to Charlottesville, rabble-roused, and ran over people in the streets, and all he had to say about that was "there were good people on both sides".

The fact that he couldn't even condemn white supremacist Nazis is one of the most damning indictments. Far worse is that people play semantics games to paper over this fact even today.

You have yet to state any facts at all - unlike iluvatar. That's my point, and I stand by it.

The fact is that he did condemn both white supremacists and neo nazis on several occasions including the very same press conference in which he made the " good people on both sides" comment. The [press conference which I produced the link to in which he said that "neo nazis and white supremacists should be condemned totally" I must assume you did not bother to check your belief that you labeled a fact. I produced video evidence of the quote. You ,however seem determined to continue to believe something that you have labelled a fact, something which the video evidence proves is untrue.

He said this only after making the comment that he did that there were "good people on both sides". He also refused to condemn the "Proud Boys" around the time of the debates and only relented after he started getting pushback on it.

His half-hearted condemnation of Nazis is completely unconvincing, and I won't forgive or forget the fact that his very first reaction to Charlottesville was "good people on both sides", regardless of your excuses for that disgraceful behavior.

What behavior do you imagine I made an excuse for? AFAIK all I have done on this thread is point out using video evidence from CNBC some things Trump actually said that you claimed that it was a fact that he did not say and assert my right not to consider other people's opinions to be facts.

He absolutely said "good people on both sides"; stop lying and ginning up excuses for it.

It has been suggested that I had not noticed that Trump is no longer President. That fact filtered through to most of the World on the night of the count. Such a pity that Trump has still not acknowledged it!

His conduct over that election, his incitement to 'stop the steal' by marching on the Capitol and his failure to condemn the rioters unequivocally were disgraceful. Now he lies that 'they were zero threat'.

Yet still his fans defend this conduct. Perhaps they are the ones who have not yet acknowledged that
Trump lost. Trump's favourite insult for his rivals was to call them losers. So I'll say it again, because it is just such a pleasure.

Trump lost.
