This is what we have heard:
casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. -1 Peter 5:7

I have wondered why ?
I wonder why apostle Peter choose such wording ! Is it not rude to cast all our anxieties on Him ?

In other translation, surprise me even more:
Throw all your anxieties upon Him, because He cares about you.

Yes, I understand that I throw all my anxieties upon the Lord because the Lord cares about me. But I cannot help but still wonder.

I know this is what I should do or what we are called to do for our good.
But I wonder, not that I doubt what is written.

Till recently, I come to understand that anxieties are not of me or a part of me !!! Yes, anxieties are not part of us or of us !!! The anxieties come from the enemies.

But why we cast on the Lord or throw upon the Lord ?! I come to understand that only the Lord can give us victory over our enemies. That is why we have to throw all our anxieties upon the Lord so that the Lord can fight for us !

For this is what we have heard :
for the LORD your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.' -Deuteronomy 20:4

Yes, we can ask the Lord to give the strength to cast all our anxieties on Him so that anxieties no longer with us. For the Lord deeply cares about us ! Not wanting us to be burdened with anxieties!

As whom the Lord cares about, we should love the more about the Lord who fight our enemies, anxiety — the cohort of the devil.

So let us trust the Lord by casting all our anxieties on Him ! For He cares deeply for us. For the Lord our God can give us victory over anxieties.

Let us always be thankful to God for His care or His love !

Fear Check.
To fear God brings wisdom
nobility of heart and respect
deeds made in Heaven
peace and inner rest.

To fear lies is to loose your sanity
A very false prophet to raise
Think things that are not true
doing things that you’ll regret.

To fear death is a sting so very deep
hurting like hell all the way in
it turns our bones into jelly
our hearts frying Hell’s welcome.

Perfect love casts out fear
So cast your fears on Jesus
and let His loving truth
rescue you from anxieties lies.

Our worries highlight areas we need to turn over to Jesus.

Matthew 6:25-34
Matthew 13:22, Mark 4:19, Luke 8:14
Luke 21:34
Philippians 4:6
1 Peter 5:7

Thanks brother for the highlights! I have looked up each verse that you highlight. These highlights verses we should be concerned about what has been spoken about regarding anxieties. Yes, let us be careful to consider what has been highlighted.

Please share us your thoughts and opinions.

Is it not true that He has already taken those anxieties for us on the Cross?

Why hold onto what He has already taken?
Dear brother,
I don’t mean to offend you but
I may have a different view than what you have said.

For it was said : casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. -1 Peter 5:7

If you cast something, it does not mean that it should be part of you !

We can only cast the devil and its cohorts or the demons.

We cast on the Lord because we believe He can deliver us out of anxieties and gives victory. That is how He shows that He cares for us.

If it was our old nature, yes, we are told to crucify it.

Since we are told to cast and not to crucify it!
I consider anxiety is demonic!

Dear brother,
to my surprise, anxiety is closely associated with fear when I check what anxiety is ; this is what is said :

Uneasy feeling of uncertainty, agitation, dread, or fear. The most common words in Scripture translated as "anxious" or "anxiety" are the Hebrew deagaa[hg'a.D] (ten times in either the verbal or noun form) and the Greek merimna [mevrimna] (twelve times in either the verbal or noun form). Older English versions of the Bible often render these words as "thought, " "worry, " or "care."

What makes people anxious,
as quoted in the highlighted bible verses : food, clothing, the cares of the world, the deceitfulness of riches, pleasures of life, dissipation, and drunkenness !

As we also have heard:
for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. -2 Timothy 1:7

So apostle Paul consider also that there is a spirit of fear or an evil spirit of fear.

Since anxiety is closely defined to fear, we can also consider that anxiety is an evil spirit!

So negative thoughts and stressful circumstances that makes many anxious ; certainly anxiety is not from God ; also anxiety is not part of us or of us !!!

That is why apostle Peter call us to cast all our anxieties on the Lord.

Therefore, let us rebuke the evil spirit of anxiety in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ !

Let us not consider anxiety to be of us or a part of us.

Let us continuously seek the strength of the Lord in dealing with anxiety.

I don’t know where or when I have heard before that say : it is human to be anxious?

When we understand God’s truth ! We find that is not true !

For we have heard:
And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day. -Genesis 1:31

God saw human that He had made, and behold, it was very good.

Do our God lie ? No !

So, Is it human to be anxious ? No !
Human becomes anxious because of the enemy.

So the evil spirit of anxiety who entices people, then eventually harass, torment, compel, enslave, defile, deceive people.
Some with serious consequences : becoming tired, weak, and sick.

Doesn’t our Lord come to deliver us from the power of the enemies ? Yes, He does !

Let us seek His power of deliverance from this evil spirit of anxiety.

Let us seek the Lord’s peace, that is not of the world.

Jas 1:14

14 But each one is tempted when by his own evil desires he is lured away and enticed. 15Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.…

i think i agree that there is a spirit of fear that we can fall prey to. Fearful lies in our hearts and minds are a characteristic of the spirit of fear.

However fear is also a human emotion. Fear is even a kind of guardian angel who warns us of bad to come, e.g God's wrath, or that car , bus, truck racing towards you. In the truth fear works for good, to preserve life, but in the lie the spirit of fear can grill us really badly. People with an anxious mental illness can really be pestered by the spirit of fear, i have learned to understand. The truth of God the spirit of fear hates the most, for it casts him out.

Col 3:8

But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

These can be demonic, or in the flesh or both.
Dear brother,
I am not trying to force you to accept my viewpoint. May through this discussion, we are always kept in the bond of peace. May God lead us aright.

I understand that you share Colossians 3:8.
But first consider earlier what apostle Paul have spoken in Colossians 3:5 when he said :

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. -Colossians 3:5 ESV

So when he said “put to death what is earthly in you”, I consider apostle Paul spoke to us to crucify the earthly parts of our old nature. That we cannot cast away our old nature but we are told to crucify our old nature.

But when he spoke in Colossians 3:8:

But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. -Colossians 3:8 ESV

So whether in one translation or another ; the wording is to put off or to put away ; we are not told to put to death ! Why ?

Because anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk is not part of our old nature.

Let us consider “anger” — this is what we have heard:

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, -Ephesians 4:26
and give no opportunity to the devil. -Ephesians 4:27

Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. -Psalms 37:8

So we heard anger tends to evil, so we can consider that there is an evil spirit of anger that we need to forsake ! Likewise, the same things with wrath — there is an evil spirit of wrath !
Why we are called to refrain from anger ? Because the evil spirit of anger influence people to be angry with negative thoughts ; and we are told to refrain from being influenced.

As for malice, we can consider it as an evil spirit of violence. As for slander, we can consider it as an evil spirit of blasphemy or and an evil spirit of lies. As for obscene talk,
we can consider an evil spirit of foolishness

So there are the old nature that we are told to crucify and there are also the demons that we are told to put away or put off.

Both the old nature and demonic influences, we can consider as works of flesh.
As we have heard in Galatian 5:19-20

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, -Galatians 5:19
idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, -Galatians 5:20
envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. -Galatians 5:21

I appreciate your kind response.
God bless you.

Jas 1:14

14 But each one is tempted when by his own evil desires he is lured away and enticed. 15Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.…

Dear brother,
We may have agreed on the same things ; may be the way you relate and I relate may differ. Let me share what I relate that you may know more.

I heard what you quote James 1:14-15
that “each one is tempted when by his own evil desirescan be said as old nature
But “he is lured away and enticed” — by who

If there’s one who is enticed, there must be an enticer.

This is what is said about the “entice”
ENTI'CE, v.t. L. titio, a firebrand.

1. To incite or instigate, by exciting hope or desire; usually in a bad sense; as, to entice one to evil. Hence, to seduce; to lead astray; to induce to sin, by promises or persuasions.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. Prov.1.

2. To tempt; to incite; to urge or lead astray.

Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. James 1.

3. To incite; to allure; in a good sense.

enticed
ENTI'CED, pp. Incited; instigated to evil; seduced by promises or persuasions; persuaded; allured.

enticement
ENTI'CEMENT, n. The act or practice of inciting to evil; instigation; as the enticements of evil companions.

1. Means of inciting to evil; that which seduces by exciting the passions. Flattery often operates as an enticement to sin.

2. Allurement.

enticer
ENTI'CER, n. One who entices; one who incites or instigates to evil; one who seduces.

So a person may have an evil desire and also demons who entice that person to do evil.

For example, a person may have desire to drink and not to drink — that person ables to do what he desires and not desires.

But when a person become alcoholic, he may eventually desire not to drink anymore but that person can’t stop drinking. Why ? Because that person are under demonic grip; demon not only entice that person but also harass, torment, compel, enslave, defile and deceived that person. And make that person tired, weak and sick.

So that person needs the Lord’s deliverance. That alcoholic person can’t just crucified himself to get out of being alcoholic.

The demonic is to be renounced 2Co4:2 it is not of us, it is an illegal intrusion.

Repentance deals with the flesh nature, renunciation deals with the demonic intrusions. Both responses are needed, otherwise one can blame the demonic for the sins of the flesh.

I die daily, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. This includes rejecting all worries and cares.

2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Galatians 5:24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

1 Corinthians 15:31
(the context was about those who deny the resurrection, but it still means what it means)
I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Blessings in Christ Jesus! Thought I would stop by to reveal that which most can not see and yet have experienced. And yet there are some that have been given eyes to see and a heart to perceive. And this is for the sake of The Body. It is the enemy that first studies the believer to see where the weakness is. If it is fear or worry, by drawing near(which can not be perceived, except by gifting) that fear or worry is then multiplied to the point of uneasiness. What the believer does not know is that the majority of this comes from outside of oneself. It is an attack taking a molehill and turning it into a mountain. Everyone who is truly born from above is equipped to deal with these types of attacks when one is under one. But first one must realize that it is an attack. The Power and Authority found in Jesus Name, if spoken by faith, out loud, causes the demons(spirit of fear) to flee from His presence in us. So you see, even having faith a small as a mustard seed, can cause a mountain to be plucked up and thrown into the sea.

Dear brother,
I like to be honest to you. I partially agreed with you what you have said and partially not agreeable with you in some; that doesn’t mean I want to offend you. But I just want to give some light about the subject that we are talking about.

For we have heard:
lest Satan should get an advantage over us. For we are not ignorant of his devices.

The devices of Satan, the Adversary — one of them brought many to fear through his demon of fear.

fearful lies, as you said — the demon brought to many minds so that many hearts are gripped in fear.

Dear brother, I know I might have a different view from you but bear with me. Let God guides us into all truth and set us free.

The demon of fear is not part of us or of us !

Yes, we are called to fear God. That is true. But this is also what we have heard:

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." -Deuteronomy 31:6

Yes, we are also told not to fear of the enemies or be in dread of the enemies. Why ? The Lord Jesus Christ is with us !

Also for His purpose that He have told us this:

Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. -Luke 10:19

So yes, we are told to fear God but not to fear the enemies! The fear of God hate evil ! We hate our enemies, Satan or the Devil with its cohorts.

Also, we come to understand the fear of God by having treasured His words in our hearts. So the fear of God comes from our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, this fear of God comes by we abide in His words. And this fear of God come not from outside but from inside and will manifest our lives as we live in God’s truth.

Yes, we are told about God’s wrath to come, but we are told that our Lord Jesus Christ whom we trust is the one who deliver us, as we have heard in 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10.

As “fear for that car , bus, truck racing towards” — we can consider this as something unexpected that happened. This is what we have heard:

fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. -Isaiah 41:10

What is dismayed ? This is what is said in dictionary:
to break down the courage of completely, as by sudden danger or trouble; dishearten thoroughly; daunt: The surprise attack dismayed the enemy.

Isn’t “the fear for that car , bus, truck racing towards” — can be considered sudden danger or trouble ? When are people face with such danger or trouble, aren’t their hearts disheartened or discouraged? But we are told in Isaiah 41:10 not to be dismayed because the Lord Jesus Christ is our God !

So hearts can be disheartened or discouraged but the hearts are not in fear !

As we have heard, we need not to be dismayed. We just trust the Lord is our God; He will help us and strengthen us and uphold with His righteous right hand.

So God is teaching us completely different than what we first perceive.

Galatians 5:24

1 Corinthians 15:31
(the context was about those who deny the resurrection, but it still means what it means)
I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
Dear brother,
You raise an important verse 2 Corinthians 10:5

bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” — whose thoughts can be brought to captivity?

Yes, we are told to deal with our own thoughts. Can our thoughts be influenced by demons ?
Yes, this is what we have heard :
Neither give place to the devil.- Ephesians 4:27 KJV

So we can’t give any place for the devil in our minds. We have to take every thought to captivity to the obedience of Christ!

Dear brother, I am not denying what is spoken in Galatian 5:24 about crucifying the flesh.

As many are under the influence of demons, they still need to crucified the flesh.

But when many are compelled to do what their free will not want to do, they must realize they are under the grip of the enemies and need to seek the Lord’s deliverance.

As we have heard: So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. -John 8:36

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. -Galatians 5:13

So I am trying to relate that many may have crucified the flesh but many have not seek the Lord for deliverance —because they are unaware of the power of the enemies.

This is what we have heard:
in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience' -Ephesians 2:2
among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. -Ephesians 2:3

So the prince of the power of the air, the evil spirit is now at work ; how we know that he works—- when many live in in the passions of flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind.

So if the devil with its demons are working in that manner — we are told to resist the devil with its demons, as we heard in 1 Peter 5:9.

Are we just told to crucify the flesh ? No.
we crucified the flesh, yes, and also resist the enemies.

Why are we called to spiritual warfare if we don’t rebuke the enemies? We need to rebuke the enemies in the mighty name of the Lord.

But first we must humbled ourselves before God that we may find grace in the Lord’s sight. For it is the Lord who helps fight our enemies. For in the Lord’s name, that we gain freedom. For it is His blood that redeem us from bonds of wickedness.

So, Let us stay in the freedom that is in Christ Jesus. And do things that bring Him delights.

Dear one,

It is true that you said that there is power and authority in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, it is true that you said that we rebuke the enemies in the name of the Lord by faith.

But many have not realized the conditions to be delivered from the power of the enemies.

If we haven’t humbled ourselves before ! How the Lord gives grace !
If we don’t come to the Lord truthfully ! How the Lord gives His grace of repentance!
If we repent !Don’t we need the instructions of the Lord ?
Are we willing to break with every occult contact ?
Are we willing to confess our sins ?
Are we willing to confess our faith in Christ?
If we are instructed to forgive those who offend us ! Don’t we need the strength of the Lord to do right ?
If we are told to treasure His words in our hearts ! Do we really believe and willing to meditate and stand on the truth of His words ?

So it is of importance that are found in His grace by come before Him humbly.

As it is also important that we repent and crucified the flesh, so that we are brought near to Him and the Lord hears our prayers.

It is grace that the Lord hears our prayers and how thankful we should be, that we should honor with sacrifice of thanksgiving.

Likewise, it is of importance that we come equipped when there is spiritual war ; having the Lord’s words in our hearts and mouths.

If we rebuke the enemies in the name of the Lord ! Wouldn’t the enemies say who are you ?

If we know that we belong to the Lord, we faithfully obey what He has instructed us. We are unshaken, for we know that the Lord is with us.

Let us come to Him and draw near Him, our Lord Jesus Christ our commander.
