Hello you and welcome.

Friendly questions here;

Do you believe there will be an end to earth?

Why do you believe that?

Where in the scripture do you get your support?

What purpose would there be to ending the earth and all the population?

Oh okay.

Thank you for all your responses, and your scriptural sharing.

If you were to ask me my own thoughts, believe this world is going to go on forever but us humans will die and the earth will pass away in that sense.

The reason why is because if the earth stops existing and humans stop existing, then wouldn't the Lord Yeshua Christ (Matthew 24:35) words pass away from existing too?

People would stop being saved, and from the understanding given, is that the Lord God Almighty Kingdom (Heavenly Jerusalem) never ends, so without the world existing, wouldn't this process be stopped in its tracks?

The present age will come to an end, but the earth, and indeed all of creation, is destined for renewal and healing and eternity.

End as in all life ceasing on this planet? It must. The sun will burn out eventually...but not before expanding and bringing the surface temps on earth to match at least Venus.

Theologically, there is no reason to think though that God could not prevent this from happening, but I think He would remove all His people from this planet and create a new earth (with a new sun or suns). Scripture seems to support this hypothesis in Revelation 21 (backed by Isaiah 65:17).

Hello and Haha 98, you talking about the sun burning out, but not before expanding and bringing the temperature seems improbable. Where do you get your support from?

Hello Via, what do you mean by this present age will come to and end, and a renewed earth? Do you mean this one we live on or could you explain further? Where do you get your support from?

2Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Hello Handmaid For Jesus.

You have shared from 2 peter 3:10 - A second letter written to God's elect who were scattered out throughout the provinces of of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, according to 1 Peter 1:1.

What are we suppose to get from all of this contextually?

Does all this mean the world is going pass away?

What is this talking about the death of a person, or the death of wiping out a whole entire earth?

Thank you for sharing the scriptures.

God will destroy this sin racked earth (and heavens). Then create the new everlasting heaven and earth. This has nothing to do with the sun etc.. The new earth will have a sun and moon and i am guessing stars. and believers ( the one who believe in sciences version now) will finally get to see Gods true creation.

Believers spend eternity on the new earth, not in heaven.

Hello Via, what do you mean by this present age will come to and end, and a renewed earth? Do you mean this one we live on or could you explain further? Where do you get your support from?

This is not improbable, the sun will burn us up eventually, it has been known by scientists for a very long time, it has also been known that the earth has had 2 total surface ice ages, at a time when the sun was less bright / hot than it is now, a series of super volcanos created nuclear winters, and at 1 point nothing could survive in the sea because it was too hot, there was also tropical life in the Antarctic and in the sahara because the earth was on a different axis then, before India broke away from the antarctic and Australia and crashed into the northern hemisphere, the earth was flatw and had smaller mountains, there have been mega tsunamis caused by giant asteroid strikes in the ocean wiping out species and civilisations, so yes, it is very probable that our days will be numbered, God knows this, it's called the rapture in the Bible, although it will only be rapturous for those who are saved according to the Bible, I wouldn't personally want to be around then if I wasn't, but.....in the Bible it says some will still be around to tell the tale, so maybe the rapture won't be the end of the earth just yet...just the end of most of us so God can start again, or take us to a new planet.

2 Peter 3:10–13
"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells."

Revelation 21:1–5
"Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.' Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.' And He said to me, 'Write, for these words are true and faithful.' "

Revelation 21:18
"The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass."

Revelation 21:21
"The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass."

Isaiah 65:17–19
"For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, and her people a joy. I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in My people; the voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in her, nor the voice of crying."

Psalm 72:11
"Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; all nations shall serve Him."

Isaiah 9:7
"Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this."

Isaiah 60:21
"Also your people shall all be righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified."

Zechariah 9:10
"I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem; the battle bow shall be cut off. He shall speak peace to the nations; His dominion shall be 'from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.' "

Luke 1:32–33
"He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end."

Psalm 72:7
"In His days the righteous shall flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more."

Isaiah 11:6–9
"The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper's den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea."

Isaiah 66:22
" 'For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me,' says the Lord, 'So shall your descendants and your name remain.' "

Contextually, Peter wants us to understand that everything is going to burn up.The only refuge is to hide in the Lord Jesus Christ. This whole universe will pass away. But there will be a New Heaven, and a New Earth for eternity.
2 Peter 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Rev. 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

If the sun blew up and the earth likewise, then for a time it would seem like everything was bathed in a lake of fire - and afterwards any souls floating around would become the weeping and gnashing of teeth.

You know, if that did happen.

Hello Via, what do you mean by this present age will come to and end, and a renewed earth? Do you mean this one we live on or could you explain further? Where do you get your support from?

Scripture speaks of this present age--the time we are living in now, in which all of recorded history has taken place. In which the world is fallen, where there is sin, death, suffering, etc. And also that there is a future age, an Age to Come.

"Peter began to say to Him, 'See, we have left everything and followed you.' Jesus said, 'Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for My sake and for the Gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this age, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.'" - Mark 10:28-30

"Jesus said to them, 'The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, but those who are considered worthy to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; for they cannot die anymore, because they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection." - Luke 20:34-36

This present age is fallen, sinful, under the subjugation and bondage of sin and death,

"Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." - 2 Corinthians 2:6-8

We are currently living in the "last days", that is, in the last moments of this present age. And we have been since Christ's ascension two thousand years ago.

With Christ's death and resurrection He defeated sin, death, hell, and the devil; and He has inaugurated God's reign through Himself as the King Messiah, seated at the right hand of the Father. And He will reign until the end, when He returns, the dead are raised, and the last enemy--death--is defeated.

"But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For 'God has put all things in subjection under his feet.' But when it says, 'all things are put in subjection,' it is plain that he is excepted who put all things in subjection under him. When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things in subjection under him, that God may be all in all." - 1 Corinthians 15:20-28

At His coming in judgment, this present age and ordering of the world--dominated as it is by sin, death, and wickedness--shall be consumed.

"But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
" - 2 Peter 3:8-13

The present order shall be consumed in judgment, through the fire of judgment and come out through to the other side renewed, restored.

"'For behold, I make new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; ... The wolf and the lamb shall graze together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox, and dust shall be the serpent's food. They shall not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain' says the LORD." - Isaiah 65:17-18, 25

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

And he who was seated on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new.' Also he said, 'Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.' And he said to me, 'It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.'
" - Revelation 21:1-7

Thank you, Michael did you see post 11?
I did, and I am familiar with that passage. However in one of the Peter letters it is said the whole creation will be melted with fervent heat. So it's possible, other things are more likely.

But the sun blowing up as a fulfillment to prophecy is possible.

Since the new heaven and the new earth don't need a sun since God is the light of it.

You know, just examining possibilities.

So it would be impossible for scripture to be talking to the generation and old age that was back then Via?

When Jesus Christ talks about a wicked and sinful generation, that he was living in, and talked to his disciples about?

Like the old age meaning the Priesthoods, sacrifices, all of this stuff would be wiped out, when he talked about to his disciples about his return?

Do you believe that we still live in that present age is that you are suggesting?

Thank you for your comments.
