Maybe he should have saluted at the base of the stairs

Wow blast from the past!

And just more proof why it should be OK to make fun of Biden for folks who object etc. this stuff had been done all the time for Republicans.

I'm glad he did not fall down the stairs.

We pray that all people of this land, its rulers and authorities, its citizens and all who reside here, might be enlightened with the light of thy Gospel and thy commandments, unto peace and good order and love for one another, so that we might easily and safely pass from our temporary homeland here to our true homeland with thee in heaven.

Lord, have mercy. (thrice)

Everyone is fair game on SNL.

He probably doesn't remember falling anyway.
Your byline says you are a "facilitator". What does "facilitator" mean in this context? Does it mean you have a formal status on this forum?

Shame on you, if so.

I've had the misfortune of discovering that disparaging, ridiculing, malicious insulting and making fun of someone's handicap is quite typical of most Trump supporters, just as it is typical of Trump himself.

I'm sad to say that this rude and obnoxious trend includes Christians too. I've been the target of such vile mockery myself by some Trump supporters during the last 5 years because I'm a Republican who won't support Trump. I've been accused of being anti-Christian and anti-American. I've been called a traitor. I was even accused of being demon possessed and that's what caused me to vote for Biden. I was also told I'm going to hell because I voted for him. I could go on, but I think I've made my point.

You weren't around for the previous four years, I take it. Either that or you have a wonderfully selective memory.

Nothing said so far that is unflattering to Joe Biden even comes close to what Trump was subjected to every day for the whole of his presidency (in case you are wondering why we are not responding well to the crocodile tears now being shed over Biden).

I don't care how Trump supporters are responding to the "crocodile tears" being shed for Biden. I do, however, care how the mockery of his handicap, laughing at him stumbling down the stairs, and the excuses of "but Trump..." reflect upon Conservative Christianity. I don't care what excuses Christian Trump supporters come up with to justify their cruel behavior. There's no excuse at all for a Christian to make fun of someone's handicap or laugh at someone when they fall down or stumble down stairs.

It's a horrible evangelical witness and heartless to mock someone's handicap or laugh when someone else falls down. It also tarnishes the public perception of Conservative Christians. Not to mention the fact that the "Trump was mistreated too..." excuse is juvenile behavior. It reminds me of my parents telling me when I was a child, "If your friends jumped off the cliff, would you jump off the cliff too?"

He is, after all, over 70. And there's the issue. Even if he's fit and strong, there's a good chance that he no longer has the proprioception he had in his younger years:

However, aging is associated with alterations of muscle spindles and their neural pathways, which induce a decrease in the sensitivity, acuity, and integration of the proprioceptive signal. These alterations promote changes in postural control that reduce its efficiency and thereby may have deleterious consequences for the functional independence of an individual. This narrative review provides an overview of how aging alters the proprioceptive signal from the legs and presents compelling evidence that these changes modify the neural control of upright standing.
Age-related changes in leg proprioception: implications for postural control - PubMed

I found this to be the case for me. There are exercises one can do to slow the process somewhat, but just as muscle mass declines with age, you can slow it, but you can't stop it. I don't sprint up stairs anymore, even though I'm strong enough to do it. I just don't have the positional input from my legs to do it safely.

It always puzzled me about the mocking President Ford got for this. It goes without saying that a man who successfully goes skiing in his 60s is not a clumsy person. Seems to me, he just wasn't willing to accept the limitations that aging puts on one's body.
