I'm Looking to assemble any and all links to any and all legislation, either proposed or passed into law, at the state or federal level, in the last 50 years, that has been brought by ANY Republican politician, that promotes, supports, or otherwise upholds ANY teaching that came DIRECTLY from the mouth of Jesus Christ while He walked the earth.

So, get out those Red Letter Bibles and post those links!

Can I ask why they’d have to come from only the red letters?

Jesus is neither Republican nor Democrat. To attach His name to a political party is not scriptural. To argue that He is Republican because He was pro life in His teachings and the scripture is no more valid than saying He was socialist in His teachings and scripture.

The thought is beneath Him and is foisted upon unknowing individuals who have a form of Godliness, but are not acquainted with His Power.

IMHO - doing so belies a contempt for our sovereign Lord and Savior and is used only to gain some type of political footing or one upmanship. I could be completely wrong - but that is my opinion.

Sure...
as indicated in the link, "Red letter edition bibles are those in which the Dominical words—those spoken by Jesus Christ, commonly only those spoken during his corporeal life on Earth—are printed rubricated, in red ink."

It just seemed like the easiest way for folks to quickly find the words actually spoken by Jesus while he walked the earth...

You certainly don't HAVE to use the red letter addition, but again I'm only looking for legislation that correlates to actual teachings that Jesus physically spoke during His physical Incarnation on earth... Anything He said between His Birth and Ascension will do.

Red letter bibles also put Jesus' post-ascension words in red.

To do so, is ignoring the whole of Scripture.

Good Point... but again, as I clearly spelled out, I'm only looking for those spoken while He walked the earth.

Why limit it to those words? He has also spoken words from heaven which can be found in Acts and in the letters to the churches in Revelation. Seems a little arbitrary.

No so. Just as if I were looking only for words spoken of By Jesus about Marriage, it doesn't mean I'm ignoring the whole of scripture, its simply that teachings about clean and unclean foods aren't applicable to the particular question about marriage.

Here's a religious liberty bill designed to allow churches to operate according to their beliefs regarding homosexuality.

Jesus said in Revelation 2:20-23 that the church has sinned by tolerating Jezebel and her sexual immorality. The church should be free to throw out such people.

No, but to only be interested in what Jesus said about marriage to the exclusion of what the OT or Paul says about marriage is to assume that the substance of the two could be different. That's a problem.

I wasn’t referring to a red letter edition. I was wondering why the words had to come from the incarnate Jesus, and not other parts of scripture.

It's my project. I'm corelating a specific parameter for my own purposes. You are welcome to participate within those parameters, or not participate.

I'm curious about why you chose that particular parameter. What's the explanation?

Seem you are the one making an assumption about my motive.

Again, It's my project, and I have set very specific parameters for my own purposes. If you choose not to participate, I have no issue with it.

You are welcome to be as curious as you want.

When I publish the results of my study, I will publish the explanation along with it.

Alright I will bow out, but I admit that I suspect that any conclusions you arrive at will be flawed because the scope of your data is so arbitrarily limited. You're threatening the value of your study.
