Pope Francis celebrating Mass in the Chaldean rite in Baghdad

Putting aside all of our opinions about Francis, I believe I heard this is the first time a Pope has celebrated Mass in this rite, I think that's pretty cool.

A Chaldean Catholic commented that they were speaking Soureth, which is Aramaic or the language commonly spoken in the Chaldean mass. I noted that it sounded like the Holy Father was speaking Italian in at least some parts, but I also didn't watch it all the way through. The hymns were definitely Chaldean hymns though.

I did too, but then I see it all the time here in the states depending on the parish... Go figure.
