Well here we go with the open borders. Biden is opening the borders, for illegals while keeping legal crossings closed. His lax policy concerns even Democrats who have border governments. They say things we conservatives have been saying for some time. Concerns over, wages being driven down, jobs taken away from Americans and drug cartels. Now COVID is a concern since these illegals aren't being tested or vaccinated.

This is why the borders need to be sealed.

At the very least, can we just admit there are jobs NO AMERICANS would ever do ! Thank you.

Some, yes. However, there are nowhere near as many of them as there are immigrants during any year in which the borders are basically open.

And it is not the case that every immigrant is even willing to take such jobs, particularly because there are numerous federal and state welfare benefits for which such people become eligible.

...for the wages offered. Why does the last half of that get left off?

And helping the poor is a bad thing?

Ensuring that low skill jobs that can help people climb out of poverty have their wages pushed lower by the presence of cheap, easily exploitable illegal labor does not help them.

Many Americans work for minimum wage. Sorry not buying your argument.
Thanks for engaging.
What is the minimum wage for a farmworker? It used to be several dollars less than the regular minimum wage.

The minimum legal wage is the same across the board, excluding the who tip based pay nonsense, but under the table payments are so rife in that area that wage laws may as well be fiction.

Well, let's see....

The Blaze - Media Bias Fact Check

Ok then, what's another left wing media news source that also has mixed ratings?

MSNBC - Media Bias Fact Check

Oh Yah! I definitely don't trust MSNBC. Both news sources pump out propaganda pieces. Nothing really to see there if you want any semblance of undiluted reality, or don't want someone telling you what to think.

Reuters - Media Bias Fact Check

Oh! Here we go. They are a smidge left leaning, which isn't ideal, but they have a good track record for the accuracy of their articles and tend to be devoid of language meant to sway or manipulate people. They present the information as it is.

Biden moves to reverse Trump immigration policies, too slowly for some

That's better. :D

Human trafficking-slave labor- is a big problem, I agree.

Ya, it is not where I would want it. But it is better than it was under Trump.

There is still a lot of room for improvement.
I'm curious to see what becomes of it when it hits the floor after the last major effort from Bush went down in flames.

Here is a different issue.
Until 1966, the FLSA excluded farmworkers. FLSA now applies the minimum wage and recordkeeping provisions to most agricultural workers and employers. Agricultural workers who are paid on a piecework basis rather than an hourly basis are entitled to receive the minimum wage — their average earnings should be sufficient to yield an average hourly wage at least equivalent to the minimum wage. The overtime pay provisions of FLSA, however, are still not applicable to farmworkers. Further, the many agricultural workers employed on smaller farms — any farm that employs fewer than roughly seven workers in a calendar quarter — are not even protected by the minimum wage provisions of the FLSA.
