Is it just me, or does it seem like whenever Joe Biden gives a speech, it sounds like a sermon at Church..?

...But the weird part, is that he didn't used to talk like that before he was president. o_O

Anyone else notice this? I wonder if he's trying to distance himself from the frankness of the previous administration, or if the party has advised him to talk a certain way. Or maybe his nomination has gotten to his head? IDK.

And of course that's not your imagination, right?

We would have to pray very very hard.
With those banner headlines such as that one at National Catholic Register to pray for Biden, I think many will.

Catholics are supposed to pray for the president no matter who he is. I think some of those prayers were fruitful with president Trump, who never pretended to be an angel but once in a while did the work of one. I'm thinking of his work against abortion, now undone by the new guy, St. Joe.

Asylum-seeker killed in Tijuana was dismembered
The body of an asylum-seeker from El Salvador forced to wait in Tijuana in the MPP program was discovered dismembered, prosecutors says.

and more such:

Mexican police charged in massacre of Guatemalan migrants near U.S. border

MEXICO CITY — Mexican police participated in a massacre last month that left 19 people dead, including at least 13 who appear to have been Guatemalan migrants on their way to the United States, a state prosecutor said late Tuesday.

The victims were killed Jan. 22 in Camargo, close to the Texas border.....

Trump's policy that Mexico should block refugees coming towards our border. The inevitable outcome of Trump's policy.

But now we have a restored part of "Love your neighbor" -- to care about the refugee seeking asylum here in the U.S. -- to let legitimate asylum seekers in after screening.

So, that particular evil done by Trump -- blocking all asylum seekers, 100% of them after April 2020 -- has been undone by Biden.

And a good put in the place where an evil was.

But don't put your faith in a mortal man, who will never save you from anything in the end.

At the best, from a mortal man, you will get some things good and some things bad. At the best. But indeed we should pray for Biden.

Remember this when Mexico complains about how the US treats Mexicans who enter the country illegally...

While this is true it doesn't justify our treatment of migrants. We must regard them as fully deserving of their rights as any other people. "Two wrongs don't make a right".

Biden replaced an evil with a good and also replaced a good with an evil. He needs our prayers as much as Trump needed them.

It seems we agree on those. Also, since Biden seems to show he believes quite a few times by the way to know which Christ specified -- "By this everyone will know you are my disciples, if you _____" -- then it would seem such a prayer for the president might work better than in the previous 4 years, hopefully.

I don't know. No prayer goes unanswered in some way or another. Neither Biden nor Trump are beyond the grace of God. Strangely I hold out more hope for Trump finding that grace than for Biden to do so. Biden thinks he is a devout Catholic. Trump knew he was a less holy man. Biden thinks he is owed the Eucharist. Trump never even pretended he was worthy. Not that I know of.

By the way, the Episcopalians by in large decided that Trump should be denied communion in Episcopalian places of worship because of his various sins, real or political. We didn't hear much of it at the time. THAT was not controversial. A bad Catholic being denied the Eucharist by a Catholic bishop is controversial.

Pray for them both. They need it.

I have not found any difference in President Biden since he became president.

His consistency and calm after four years of chaos, anger, division, unpredictability and "alternative truths," his demeanor is like salve on a wound.

He speaks of peace and then promotes abortion. But in that he was predictable.

Well, you and other single issue voters talk about abortion quite a bit, but TBT if you didn't no one else would even think about it.

I think he is far too busy trying to eliminate poverty for half America's children, trying to insure that our planet will exist when they grow up, insuring that Americans and developing nations get vaccinated, opening our country to 65,000 refugees, and more.

But even sadder than your not acknowledging these tremendous and necessary goods is your supporting not only the worst but the most dangerous president in history, who as soon as he left for Florida had legions of criminal investigators on his trail.

Thank you for calling me a single issue voter. It's as if you knew me. NOT! But that's OK.

I know we are in for a bout of inflation, which does not help poor people at all. And he is coasting on Trump's work to get vaccines going.
But even sadder than your not acknowledging these tremendous and necessary goods is your supporting not only the worst but the most dangerous president in history, who as soon as he left for Florida had legions of criminal investigators on his trail.
I never voted for Trump. Thanks for presuming I did. I think there is a blindness in sold out Democrats who can brook no criticism of their party or politicians. And the worst they can say about the rest of us is that we are Trump supporters. Even when we aren't and never were.

Trump was not as bad as he was made out to be by your party. And Biden isn't as good as he is made out to be by your party. We would be better off without your party. We would be better off without the Republican party too. But your partisanship only guarantees a counter-partisanship that with your party will destroy the Republic. It won't be long. Thanks.

BTW, the reason for inflation has been the pent-up demand in American consumers. For a year most of them, at least the prudent ones, did very little shopping or dining out and almost no traveling.

When they became vaccinated and the numbers went down, they began resuming their normal activities and business picked up. They had put off home improvements and decided to move forward, causing a big jump in the price of lumber.

Leading economists said that the January stimulus was necessary and that it needed to be significant to get the country moving again.

As the UK and other countries discovered a few years ago, cutting their budgets and going on austerity backfired. Because their countries stayed in recession they collected less taxes. Even with the lowered budget, taxes were so much lower that the deficit was greater than it would have been had they enacted a stimulus.
