House Democrats Target Newsmax, Fox News for De-platforming From Cable
Cable service companies such as Comcast, AT&T, Spectrum, Dish, Verizon, Cox, and Altice all received the same letter on Monday pressing for answers on policies related to the spread of disinformation, rumors, and conspiracy theories on networks they carry.

The letter directly only assails conservative news networks Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN and accuses them of airing misinformation on various topics – among them, the coronavirus, the 2020 election, and the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6.

The Democrats even goes as far to ask whether the outlets will continue to be carried by the providers and questions their "ethical principles." Tellingly, the Democrats are not targeting any leftwing media like CNN and MSNBC.

Sounds like a desperate attempt to control the airways before the 2022 elections, which I believe they are scared spitless of losing. If they lose the House it's all over for them.

Let's see the actual letter...since Newsmax isn't exactly a reliable source in the first place, let alone when reporting about itself.

Agreed. Newsmax reporting that it's being targeted and persecuted isn't a convincing argument.

Uh ... because those "media" outlets air misinformation and lies on an almost daily basis?

The First Amendment allows people to lie, if they have the notion to do so. It doesn't prevent other people from calling them out on it or holding them accountable for their lies.

Anyone who watched any of those channels can easily see what the Democrats are complaining about. All they want to do is spread extremely obvious lies that have been repeatedly debunked to pretend a son of Satan is the second coming of Jesus. In fact, Tucker Carlson has called Jill Biden - an English teacher at a community college - "illiterate" and a "kiddo" while criticizing her dissertation for a doctorate degree. Last week, Newsmax ran a whole episode about Champ, a purebred German shepherd, not getting baths even though he does not look dirty at all in photographs. The guy talking about Champ called him a "junkyard" dog. This stupid lie shortly followed unfounded claims Joe and Jill have a bad relationship; the couple has been married 44 years. This totally idiotic crap is not just allowed, but encouraged, by their employers. It makes absolutely no sense that anyone calls a request to get people like them fired against free press.

Then why not include CNN and MSNBC as recipients of that same letter? They are guilty of the same charge.

Then why the push to get cable companies to justify airing them? Sounds as if the democrats only want to listen to their choir and no other......

This is how we need to change. Just because something is questioned, just because we do not jump enthusiastically on board with whatever, does not mean we are pro or con. let us always ask questions and try to be objective.

The National Enquirer is a more reliable news source than Newsmax. Fox News isn't too far behind.

The intelligence column, actually. It is impossible to be an educated voter and believe the crap Newsmax, Fox, and OANN put out that has led to a deadly terrorist attack on America's most important building.

False.

For those of us who watch objective news sources from outside of the US, it's pretty clear which side of the political divide is doing the vast majority of the lying.

As if Democrats are the only ones guilty of this. "conservatives" only wanting to listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Ingraham, Coulter, Alex Jones, etc. gave us the trainwreck that is trump.
