Have you ever thought about this? Of all the times in human history that we could have been able bodied, professing Christians, why did we choose or were chosen to be here now, at the end, when things are going to get bad. What are we supposed to be doing? How are we supposed to be acting? I pray and He feels so far away, like a telephone line with lots of static. Should we be forming a Coalition? What are we supposed to be doing? Please think about this before you answer.

This is not a rhetorical question. I literally have no idea.

Our task here is to do well for others. We have about 5000 years left to nail it down.
But plan for 5000 seconds, which is equally likely.

This will not be obvious until you have committed to helping others. Till then you might feel lost.

Mark 12:31
The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

James 2:8
If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.

Romans 15:2
Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

Matthew 7:12
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Proverbs 3:29
Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you.

Galatians 5:14
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Since the pandemic started I had a feeling that we were being separated into herds. Even though I believe the pandemic was done by the devil, because humans gave him that authority, God always uses evil for good. We couldn't gather to worship as the body of Christ but we went back to the basics, worship at home and gather at home. Ive heard many people saying they feel God is far away, I dreamt of spiritual blackouts; churches began to build their own towers of communication and they created a spiritual blackout. In another dream I saw people being injected to be placed to sleep; I remember thinking in the dream “don’t drink the cool-aid”.

what are we supposed to be doing? Going back to the basics; repent, declare, worship, praise and pray. There’s a prophecy of a revival coming and when revival comes the devil attacks the most. Hang in there, you are not the only who is struggling, but the reward is big for those who stay firm on their faith.

If you are asking this question, it means the Holy Spirit is speaking to you, but are you listening?

No one knows the time or hour when He is coming, but I think it is much sooner than 5000 years from now. Learning Bible Prophecy (Daniel and Revelation) and understanding is key because the Bible tells us the signs and what to look for during the end, so we won't be fooled by the "false prophet" and so we can be ready for Him. He tells us things ahead of time, so when they happen you know He is our Creator.

One of the last verses in the Bible is:

Revelations 22: 12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

A lot of churches are teaching you no longer need to obey God's laws, you only need love and are saved by grace not the law. We are saved by grace (its God's gift) but God tells us who He has mercy for right in His laws:

Exodus 20:6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

You say you think God is far away. Have you prayed to do God's will and not your own? When I led my life doing my will I also could not feel Him. I was very unhappy being successful in this world. I knew God was speaking to me but I wasn't listening. I finally heard His small voice and prayed for forgiveness. I prayed to start doing God's will and not my own. My life completely changed. With God's swift help, I was able to get out of a bad investment/career that was keeping me from obeying His commandments and I moved to another state. I have never been happier and at peace. God is a God of love, but He does want us to obey Him. He tells us that throughout the Bible. His commandments are commandments of love, the devil tries to deceive many by saying they are a curse. Just read each of them Exodus 20 and decide for yourself. The first 4 is how we are to love God and the last 6 how we are to love each other.

Pray to God, ask for His Spirit to lead you to do His will. God wants to bless each of us, but are you willing to let Him lead? Seek Him first. Mathew 6:33.

Jesus Promises Another Helper
John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

This was the best seminar I have watched on Bible prophecy. It's long and the series gets better with each episode. Program Archives | Revelation Now

Prayer, worship time needs to increase. I do that on my own, also in the house with a rooming person here and via zoom meetings right now and online services. We are to do the work of disciples, shed light ( love) abroad in our hearts out to a dark world. How you conduct yourself is a witness and a testimony. And when in doubt pray ! Study scripture, when the Spirit seems distant being in the word can draw Him nearer. Jesus perhaps said it best : I have to be about my Fathers business. So let us be about our Fathers business which will glorify Him.

Whether the end comes tomorrow or 600 years from now the expectation is the same: love God with all we are and love our neighbor as our self. So yes, we should be forming a coalition of love. We should be living according to the ways of the kingdom until it is consummated.

We studied Esther years ago. Verse 4:14 is my favorite.

And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

I was ready to find my purpose and began to explore it. I wanted to marry but I wasn’t sure if God had another path in mind. I made arrangements to participate in a monastic weekend to determine if I was called to be a nun. I needed to be certain.

I traveled earlier to spend time in the area before heading to the monastery. The first night in the city I found a Christian radio station and fell asleep. I woke to a sermon on Esther echoing the passage I shared.

I went sightseeing later on. We pulled to the stoplight and I looked out the window and saw the sign. The street was named Hadassah. I knew the Lord was getting my attention.

The next day I visited a school I’ve wanted to attend all my life. I stood at the gates eyeing my dream and began to cry. And I gave it up. I did a tour the following day for the experience. But I knew it was gone. And it is.

Following Him cost me a lot. I’ve given up my dreams, friends, and the man I loved. I knew I was here for a reason. But I’d never discover it holding on to the past. I had to relinquish it and allow Him build anew.

In hindsight, Mark’s words prove true:

For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it. —Mark 8:35

I began with my strongest attachments. The things that contributed to my identity. As the spirit led me, I let them go. He touched so many things. It gave me a deeper understanding of servanthood and what it meant to be a bondservant.

Everything I’ve endured from the waywardness and sacrifices to the spoils are preparing me for my work and the people I’m meant to reach. I see it now. But I didn’t in the beginning.

When you’re searching for answers on your kingdom role you have to consider everything. I reference my childhood often. I’ve connected the dots and see how the parts contributed to today. Sometimes I’m amazed. Things don’t always make sense when we’re experiencing them. But there’s a divine purpose.

In my experience, the work God calls me to perform is all related. There’s a lot of overlap that allows me to apply and develop expertise. Staying focused was my biggest lesson. You can be pulled in many directions and get confused.

Yours in His Service,

~bella

My short and simple answer would be, first or foremost, or very first and foremost, is to be doing all the best we can do or be to be doing and/or being the most absolute best help we can be to or toward or for others, and be doing it/that, etc, first and foremost, etc...

Then, second to this/that, and it does come second, etc, is to be doing the best we can to know God, and know all about the real true theological truth regarding Him, and then be doing the best we can to be getting that truth out to and for or toward others, etc, but that both is, and always should be, etc, always come always secondly to the first, or come last, etc...

Cause this or these should lead to people being and/or getting saved, etc, which is also our work here, etc...

Help first, or Love first, and then correct theological doctrine, which will be a saving doctrine if it is a/the right one, second and/or secondly and/or last, etc...

This should lead to very, very many getting or becoming saved, if your doing it correctly, and doing it all out of/in Love, etc...

God Bless!

The purpose of all Christians at all times is to seek the Kingdom of God. The gospel is the gospel of the Kingdom, no more and surely no less. God's kingdom is where God's will is being done and Satan is driven out. You may see the manifestation of God's kingdom in an individual who has been set free from bondage, a family that lives in harmony with the Word of God or in churches where the brethren work in unity and love.

This is the ideal generation to be alive. Satan is desperate and getting weaker and weaker. Some churches are drifting away from the truth while others are standing their ground, sometimes in the face of terrible persecution.

It's time to stand on God's promises, God's word and live according to who God says we are in Christ. Weak or strong, no matter. The power is in Christ, not in ourselves. Keep it simple, keep close to God and stay humble. Resist the devil and watch him flee. Rejoice! Our redemption is close at hand!

The phrase “drinking the Kool-Aid” refers to followership at its worse. It was coined after a delusional, pseudo-guru named Jim Jones led his cult, the Peoples Temple, to mass suicide. Over 900 people, including 304 children, killed themselves by drinking from a vat of grape-flavored drink laced with cyanide. (Although it wasn’t Kool aid they drank) :(

Oh, and if you do come to truly know God, correct doctrine/gospel and all of that, etc, you will automatically Love Him, if you truly do know that, or do come to truly know all of that also, etc, but I thought that was a given, etc...

I was just mainly focused on all of what all it takes to truly love people, etc, or all of what all it takes to truly be showing your true Godly Love toward other people in my above post, etc...

Love on the horizontal and not so much the vertical, etc, cause I just thought that (the vertical) was just a given, etc...

Automatically comes with knowing Him, etc, cause to know Him, and truly know Him, is to Love Him, etc...

Sometimes it's so automatic for me now that I "forget", etc...

Forget that sometimes still for some other people still, it's still not a given yet, etc...

Not yet anyway, etc...

Anyway,

God Bless!

Seems like all the more reason to keep a saying like that in our lexicon as a reminder of the horrors that can come with blind obedience.

There's a lot of false prophecies today depicting horrors unimaginable. Twitter even has a support group for victims of churches teaching this sort of thing, https://twitter.com/hashtag/raptureanxiety?lang=en.

You’re absolutely right about false and horrific prophecies, but I can’t imagine Twitter being a good source of support for anything other than fueling hate and anxiety. That platform is a mess. :(

I've only read testimonies of child abuse in Rapture-type churches. I've seen it in person several times.

Please think about this before you answer.
This is not a rhetorical question. I literally have no idea.

Q: Of all the times why now
A: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

Q: Have you ever thought about this?
A: Every day, all day.

Q: Why did we choose or were chosen to be here now, at the end, when things are going to get bad?
A:
  • God chose us before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blame before Him in love (Ephesians 1:4), which gives us specific purpose in our lives; His will, not our own.
  • God's plan comes to fruition through those that love Him. They are called to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
Q: What are we supposed to be doing? How are we supposed to be acting? I pray and He feels so far away, like a telephone line with lots of static.
A:
  • Love God and love others (John 13:34-35).
  • Obey God (keep His commandments) and receive the Holy Spirit (John 14:15-16, John 14:21).
  • Pray (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
  • Read the word of God (Matthew 6:11, Matthew 4:4). Study to show yourself approved (2 Timothy 2:15).
  • Repent (Acts 3:19).
  • Have faith and seek diligently (Hebrews 11:6).
  • Preach the Gospel (Matthew 24:14, Mark 16:15).
  • Watch for His return (Matthew 24:42).
  • Turn away from/let go of the world (1 John 2:15, 2 Corinthians 6:14, Ephesians 5:11) and look to heaven instead (Matthew 6:33).
  • Be renewed in purpose for God, not for sin (Romans 6:12-17).
Q: Should we be forming a Coalition?
A: Christianity is a coalition. Church is a coalition. Our true coalition is with God, through Jesus Christ.

In my experience, the work God calls me to perform is all related. There’s a lot of overlap that allows me to apply and develop expertise. Staying focused was my biggest lesson. You can be pulled in many directions and get confused.

Yours in His Service,

I think I could be married to a wolf in sheep's clothing and I do not know what to do. He played the part when we married and now he has backslid so bad that it grieves me deeply. He is hardening his heart to stone and praying for him seems to make it worse. He is turned off to anything religious and we have not been intimate for close to 5 months. He yells at me, I can do nothing right and when I read my Bible he rolls his eyes. He is listening to secular music and watches fighting 24/7 when not working. I don't want to change him, I just leave him alone and wonder what has happened. My soul is grieved and maybe that is half my problem. In this situation I don't know what would please God and I feel stifled. God's word feels blocked and it feels intentional. Like a check mate move of the devil.

As far as I know, we're just supposed to be doing the same things that Christians are supposed to have always been doing ... ( ... 2PhiloVoid takes out a Bible and turns to the book of Acts ... )
