Persons (including corporations) cannot be held responsible for 'acts of God'.......
Yeah, but, in 2011 there was another similar act of God. The power companies and the governor was advised to winterize the power grid. So maybe that will be the argument since they did not heed the advice.

Yes. But often recommendations are made that cost money that would at LEAST mitigate impact on people.

Guess what? Making things better costs money. This is the POWER flowing to a WHOLE STATE. To try to skimp on a few bucks to stick it to environmentalists means that when the problems come, YOU have to pay the piper.

I don't think the courts would rule that not winterizing was a deliberate and irresponsible act, especially in a region with a historically warm climate.

Maybe that will spur them to upgrade their grid.

The customers will pay dearly for those upgrades. The city upgraded the sewer main on my street. My assessment was $2000.
