From hislegacy's posting above (Join us in prayer for our new president. Prayers for our new President.)
Why do that when the prayers for Trump did not work ... God did His will not mine so why pray for President Biden God is just going to do the same thing ... His ways are not our ways and that's in the bible and that's being proven as we speak.

I'll pray for America God bless America, but I will pray for God to do it His way just like he has since 1776

Here is the prayer @geetrue is referring to:

Quote:

Father, we thank you for Jesus Christ and the Love You have demonstrated through His sacrifice on our behalf. We recognize in Your Word that where two or three are gathered in Your Name, You are in the midst of them, welcome to this thread. Our first goal is to honor You and to pray as shown in Scripture.

I pray for Mr. and Mrs. Biden as they enter their new roles as leader of this nation. I ask that You would give him wisdom in every decision he faces, that peace would be his guide and that he would hear Your voice clearer than he ever has before in his life. I pray for his family and staff for their safety and that, if they do not know You, they would find you soon. We pray for his health and mindset. We speak a blessing on this administration in the wonderful Name of Jesus Christ.

Thank you Father, thank you.
The primary reason to pray for the President is simply because we are told to pray for those in authority over us .

1 Tim 2:1-3 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
The reader will note my prayer was for him, not political in any way. Tp be honest, it is the same prayer I prayed for Mr. Trump, Mr. Obama and previous Presidents.

I don't have to support their political stance, I don't have to agree with them - i don't have to even like them. But I do have to pray for them.

And that is the reason why.

As for why the prayers for Trump did not work -

Maybe they were not scriptural prayers. Perhaps God does not intervene in human will.

That first quote shows a lack of understanding of the nature of prayer. The Bible tells us to pray for those in leadership. We are responsible for the prayer, not the outcome. Plus, in so many ways we can't know how effective our prayers are, that doesn't mean we should stop, in fact, in means we should keep persisting.

Yes, very good. We can pray and I think the prayers most often are answered, but that doesn't override the free will of the person. So, one could for instance pray for someone that you personally know that is lost, and perhaps for such as they feel a pull to learn about Christ, for example. But when they do feel that pull, it is still up to them to choose whether to follow that pull.
