Normally I stay away from foods that are low fat or reduced sugar, etc. because it just isn't the same and never better than full flavor. I decided to try a third less fat in cream cheese.
Wow, no problem from now on that is what I will buy. It is quite tasty and has a lot of flavor and not bland at all, but also because of less fat it is not hard and spreads easily in the brick kind. Means I can eat more, right:)

Don't cut out too much fat as the body needs it.
It is ok to cut out sugar as it contains fructose which is not good for the body.
There is a lot of false information out there on diet,

I buy zero fat Greek yogurt and do not miss the fat. Just be aware when you read the labels that ingredients are listed by the first ingredient having the most content. First ingredient sugar? Drop it. Just read up on it. It will explain the things to look out for. As we all know, advertising is very deceptive. A lot of loopholes with various products. Patent medicine, etc. is far from dead.

Tell that to my liver and pancreas neither like fat or sugar as Michie reminds me, lol.
BTW Michie, I had asked a friend of mine for possible salad dressing w/o oil or sugar about a week or so ago and she got back to me and BAM as that famous chef would say. She said the only thing she could think of was dry salad dressings.
OMGosh, she hit it right on the button. As you two had suggested using plain yogurt now I know an easy way to make it without spending a fortune on spices and such. If I had the spices you all suggested I would have already attempted to make both of your recipes but. I am excited as all is needed now is various dry dressings and yogurt. I am going to try and go to the store tomorrow. Some day if I ever get those spices I will remember to thank you for all your efforts that I could finally attempt:) She also suggested water down tomato sauce for the liquid part of, depending on the dry dressing I use, which I thought was good also.
I think concerning fat, I could cut out every fat that is obvious but still I am sure there is enough hidden fat left to make my attempts void, lol. There is so much fat added to food.
Thank you both for caring:)

Removing refined sugar from your diet has the largest benefit. And you’ll lose weight too.

Avoid foods with ingredients: sugar or cane sugar. That’s refined sugar.

Choose foods with ingredients: organic cane sugar or organic cane juice. That’s unrefined sugar. It looks pale brown in its natural state.

Avoid yogurt with fruit on the bottom. You’re eating jam. Just use fruit with a little honey.

The Spice House has salad mixes. Just add oil, vinegar, or yogurt. I’ve shopped with them for years. The products are top notch.

Yours in His Service,

~bella

Thanks to all your advice on salad dressings I was able to try one because they were simple and available ingredients.
I had some pickle juice and poured the plain yogurt into it, added salt and pepper and dry ranch dressing. Mixed it up, that was the hardest part. And WA LA. I gotta tell you it was wonderful. I couldn't tell the difference between it and regular and zero calories except for the plain yogurt. NO SUGAR, NO FAT.
I over did as I usually do with salad dressings and ended up in the bathroom all day long but....
I really can't get over how good it was on my first try and I owe it all to you guys.
THANKS SO MUCH!!
As far as measurements just use your best judgment as I did and it worked perfectly.
I also made the cukes, onions and beets in vinegar plus water. So in the back of the fridge there is a huge jug of pickled vegys. They will probably be back there for years but the cukes were going bad so I was forced to do it.
Its nice to have. Don't forget the salt.

You need some fat to digest the vitamins in salad. in fact many vitamins are fat soluble. So do not cut out all fat, but reduce and consume good fats like olive oil and those found in nuts.

Thanks but there are enough natural fats in food that adding additional fats is not necessary.

JS: I watch my sugars and have learned the best way to keep foods that we need to keep down is to read ingredients, learn the many hidden names for the item and make more from scratch. I also use healthy oils in making salad dressing including my own mayo.
