What can I do to make sure he hears me? I’ve prayed and have been reading the Bible for over 6 months now and I just feel like nothing has changed since then, except I’ve been getting more negative thoughts, which is what some Christians would call spiritual attacks.
I feel hopeless and helpless in my life. Any advice? I don’t know where else to post this so i posted it under prayer.

God hears you, but don't forget that the Holy one of Israel spoke the words: My God, my God why have you forsaken me?

As someone who also suffers from spiritual attacks in the form of obsessive thoughts and negative thoughts I can sympathize with you but simply because God doesn't immediately take away our pain doesn't mean He's not listening.

Sometimes He wants us to stand firm and rebuke the thoughts in boldness, sometimes He's using the thoughts to create in us a humility and empathetic feeling towards others in their pain.

Christ never promised to take away our troubles in this life, in fact they often multiply when we are in His will. Yet He is present with us in these troubles, we simply have to listen for His voice instead of expecting Him to act as we expect.

Trust Christ and listen for His peace. Stand bold when those negative thoughts come and rebuke them with authority. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Abba Yah please Breathe a Mighty and Holy Breath into this Body and raise us up in Yahshua ha Mashiach, that we may be Quickened in the Vine and bear much fruit. Amen.

I encourage you to continue to read the Bible, memorizing passages of it that inspire and/or comfort you.

Try to remember any verses that have stood out to you, even just fragments and then look in a concordance or even google the words. Then write the verses over and over until you have them memorized! It is said that writing something down even just once is as good as reading it eleven times!

John 15:1-4
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me."

Ephesians 5
"…25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her 26 to sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,"

I see that you are in a relationship. It is very important that the words you two are speaking to each other are all about life and love for empowerment.

As far as our inner spiritual life, like trees, we sometimes go through periods of dormancy for whatever reason--maybe limited resources or harsh environment. Always pray though...no matter what, because He is there.

Yah bless you and shalom.

There are a number of possible reasons.
1. Unforgiveness in your heart, especially if it is towards another Christian
2. Unconfessed sin in your own heart (that includes unforgiveness)
3. An attitude of heart that God wants to change.
4. Praying on the wrong basis - for selfish reasons only, for example
5. Not praying in Jesus name.

You also need to know that God always hears us, but sometimes He will not respond because He wants us to live by faith. You are not the best judge of whether or not you have changed. Other people, especially Christians, are more objective. Also, don't expect your family to support you. They are often less objective than anyone else! I learned this by experience.

Why don't you try to call on the true name of our Deliverer, Yahuwshua? For He is Yahweh. We should pray using His true names. If you would like, you can visit www.yahuwshua.org for more information.

katya. I prayed for you today. Thank you for posting here in CF. By doing so, you allowed more of us to pray for you. I will keep on praying for you whenever God brings you into my thoughts.

Find a church where the Spirit of God is strong, where they can pray for you to break whatever you feel is oppressing you. Ask them to lay hands on you for the infilling of the Holy Spirit. You need the strength of The Enabler to overcome this. Review Isaiah 10:27. It brings a picture of a yoke breaking off an ox back that has gotten so fat. That is the spiritual state you need to be. To be so filled with the presence and experiential knowledge of God that whatever is oppressing you will slide off you spiritually.

But while you are searching for a church you can trust, you can start by repenting and confessing sins that you are aware of to remove the toe hold the enemy has into your life. Things like tarot cards and new age stuff or witch craft, sexual immorality, dark movies, etc. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you these sins. More importantly, ask the Holy Spirit to enable you to have the desire to renounce these sin, and refill those places with Himself once you repent of them. The free will is very important in breaking off these things. The enemy cannot keep on oppressing you if by an act of your will, you renounce them. Sometimes verbally saying "By an act of my will, I chose to rid my life of this [specific sin]". Then ask Jesus to fill that emptied area with His presence. Then know that you know that in your heart, you prefer the light and love and the Presence of Christ over and above that sin. Often if you are thorough in searching your heart for every sin in your life and submitting them to Jesus this way, this can be enough.

Until then, we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers here in CF. God bless and take care.

Read the Bible and pray every day, start with a good verse to memorize
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believed in him would not perish but have eternal life.

If you don't mind, what is it you want?
For my depression and anxiety to go away for one. I think that’s pretty reasonable and not selfish at all but I’m still suffering. Also, For my faith to be strengthened during these trying times...I’m seeing everything that’s happening around me and it’s making me lose hope. I’ve been thinking about all the wrong that’s been done in my life and it’s been upsetting me a lot. I’m not successful like some of my church peers and it’s disheartening. I feel stuck...i just want to stop feeling this way and do better. Everything looks bleak. A lot of things feel unfair.

I feel literally the exact same way top to bottom, broken beyond repair.
