If this does not make your blood boil nothing will. Australia is bringing in laws, that fine Christians up to $500,000 or 10 years jail, for helping gays leave their life style.

Be serious about this, and pray.

This is the gay victory remember? What does a gay person do after they decide to lead a gay life style? They make homosexuality their god and leave the real God? Sadly a lot of gay people do and this world is running after them. This is what is happening in the Western world. Our God of the Bible is seen as suppressive, loveless and old fashion and is done away with, while homosexuality is embraced and everyone is forced to go along with them, or else!

All in the name of love?

(But true love loves what is right, does not seek wrong, and is not self seeking.)

Absolutely. How long before quoting the Bible is condemned as hate speech? If this proceeds into law, Aussies had better start learning Chinese. They'll need it to work with their new masters.

Many people of the world are bonkers..
You got that right! Especially these days. I really miss the 80's. Things have changed so much since then that sometimes I feel like I live on a different planet!

Canada is also proposing similar laws.

We Christians can no longer afford to idly watch on the side. We are such a large group (bigger than them) we should all stand up and let our voice be heard. If they insist on prodding us, they better be ready to see how large a sleeping giant we are. Personally I've sent a letter to our local minister against these proposed laws, and is currently signed up to receive email updates on this and other issues like abortion etc. If there are rallies, I will be there.

I truly think most Christians do not know about this, and if they do, don't know what to do.

I know this is not the prophetic forum, but I have had the thought more than once cross my mind that God may use China to correct our nation (Australia). People would say the thought is crazy, but China may one day even invade us for our sins. But don't quote me on that, it was only a thought.

Yeah. Church leaders are failing to raise these issues. A simple note on the church bulletin for current issues would be nice. But each of us individually should also be plugged to see what issues are dear to God. I became aware only when I signed up for abortion issues which is dear to Gods heart. Then I began to see so many other issues like this. The enemy is very sneaky also. The gender laws were snuck in very quickly in a very questionable way in Canada.

Perhaps us Christians need to consider having our own lobbyists. Not directly tied to any church or denomination. Just another non-charitable organization that will take individual donation to prevent Christian beliefs from being eroded. We have to fight the war the way politicians understand. I'm not sure of the ramifications of this tho. I am just an average apolitical Christian.

here is the current proposed legislation: https://content.legislation.vic.gov.au/sites/default/files/2020-12/591143bab1.pdf

please note that your claim is not upheld.

The fine of up to $500,000 or 10 years on jail is specifically directed towards those who physically injure the person they are "helping"

(1) A person (A) commits an offence if—
(a) A intentionally engages in a change or suppression practice directed towards another person (B); and
(b) the change or suppression practice causes serious injury to B; and
(c) A is negligent as to whether engaging in the change or suppression practice will cause serious injury to B.
Penalty: In the case of a natural person, level 5 imprisonment (10 years maximum) or a level 5 fine (1200 penalty units maximum) or both

NO the crimes act defines injury as both emotional or physical, but should I be happy to accept, other fines, or imprisonment, for emotional damages, or injury? People can claim all sorts of emotional injury.

As stated in the document and injury under the crimes act is not just physical injury:

S. 15 def. of injury substituted by No. 6/2013 s. 3(a).

(a)physical injury; or

(b) harm to mental health

the legislation specifically notes that "injury has the same meaning as it has in
25 section 15 of the Crimes Act 1958"

S. 15 def. of injury substituted by No. 6/2013 s. 3(a).
"injury" means—
(a) physical injury; or
(b) harm to mental health—

S. 15 def. of harm to mental health inserted by No. 6/2013 s. 3(c).
"harm to mental health" includes psychological harm but does not include an emotional reaction such as distress, grief, fear or anger unless it results in psychological harm;

It's not about whether I inflict it, it is whether the person claims it. They only have to see my website advertising the fact that Homosexuality is against God, they could claim this has bought them continual fear (or some other disruption to their mental health), I could then be fined.

This is not about physical injury, it is all about, a person's perceived mental well being.

We were assured by the government at the time of the referendum into gay marriage that there would be no impact on people of faith. After the referendum, some Christians, and a radio presenter were put before the courts, some fined $10,000. Now we have this new law, which states we may not participate in any conversion practice, we may not try to convert someone from a gay life style, and you assure us there will be no implications. It's a joke. The law specifically mentions even prayer is not allowed, for consenting adults. It is crazy. There will be implications, there will be fines.

Our job description ...
  • [Mar 6:12 NASB] 12 They went out and preached that [men] should repent.
  • [Luk 9:6 NASB] 6 Departing, they [began] going throughout the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

The lost are free to reject the Good News ...
  • [Mat 10:14 NASB] 14 "Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.
  • [Mar 6:11 NASB] 11 "Any place that does not receive you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust off the soles of your feet for a testimony against them."
  • [Luk 9:5 NASB] 5 "And as for those who do not receive you, as you go out from that city, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them."

The consequences belong to them and not to us ...
  • [Mat 10:15 NASB] 15 "Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for [the] land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

And this is EXACTLY what Jesus promised when we accepted His call to follow:
"If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before [it hated] you. "If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. "Remember the word that I said to you, 'A slave is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also. "But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me. "If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. "He who hates Me hates My Father also. "If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well. "But [they have done this] to fulfill the word that is written in their Law, 'THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE.'
[John 15:18-25 NASB]
