I've noticed the World Wide Web has had an increasingly negative impact on my walk with the Lord. It's provided a lot of avenues for temptation and discouragement, as well as the news' ability to provoke rage and finger pointing. I just want to share for those this resonates with, that it might be time to take a step back in your Internet consumption. I notice the Internet has gotten A LOT worse since the pandemic. There must be one of the largest wealth transfers in history, because ads are present on all the websites like never before.
Even coming to CF, last night I noticed an ad that was very provoking to my flesh. I looked up a worship service on YouTube last night that I regularly watch, and looked at the comments section. There was a comment by someone with an avatar of a completely naked person with a name that had "XXX" in it. It's truly impossible to avoid sin on the Internet anymore. Maybe there is a concerted campaign among Internet advertisers to tarnish us all so that we're all lemmings who have no walk with the Lord. Who knows. I just know that overall, for all of its benefits, being on the Internet is dragging down my walk with Jesus, and I think for some of you, you might need to severely limit or even entirely get rid of most of your Internet consumption, except for maybe GPS and email.
