Thanks for this perspective. I'm 35 and not old enough to remember the Vietnam protests or prior race riots. I am concerned about the South rising again. I think to suppress them a second time is not good. Robert E. Lee's surrender was the first thing that many of them are still upset over, even 170 years later. The removal and subsequent censoring of Trump seems to be the straw that will break the camel's back. Ultimately I'm concerned that the Left's suppression will come back to bite them. When you're vindictive and proud, you tend to overplay your hand.
More likely under the gaze of Tech which the Chinese use also. The reset is more about a tech state in the new order than about any political platform. Surveillance is king especially where data reigns supreme in today's world. As for oppression, well that is all part of the end of days so enjoy the ride. They'll get theirs in the end.I suspect, are in some measure in the pocket of the Chinese Communist Party
It’s an amazing thing to see a group of people who have never known true oppression and their take on what makes them marginalized and oppressed.
Oh come on now. Your saying this wasn't comparable to the storming of the Bastille??? These violent organized insurrectionists halted operations for 2 whole hours and even stole a few thousand dollars worth of furnishings. They may have to start nailing down all the made in china hardware. We don't have the pork...I mean budget for all this where would we cut??? Atleast they left the carpets clean when they left.As if Congress knows what oppression is. They're among the most privileged people in the world, yet we're supposed to feel sorry about their workday being disrupted for a couple of hours...
Be interesting to see Twitter and Amazon stocks tomorrow.Going to be interesting to watch the media fuelled frenzy meltdown over the next few days as people think their little world may end without immediate panic. lol. People have totally lost touch with reality
The article loses all attempts at credibility by blatantly ignoring Obama. This article, courtesy of ABC Australia, the publicly owned broadcaster, is a sobering assessment of the current political situation in the USA. The one factor left out of the analysis (hardly surprising) is God. Unfortunately, God is increasingly left out of American society. So no one should be surprised at the current state of affairs in the US.
The problem at the heart of this week's crisis goes deeper than Trump
Is the article factual? Are the conclusions correct? I don't agree with everything stated in the article, but the general theme is hard to argue against. Agree? Or not?
"Joe Biden has an opportunity to deliver change to America but nothing he has said thus far gives us any confidence he can reverse 40 years of drift, despondency and disillusion."The article loses all attempts at credibility by blatantly ignoring Obama.
It calls out the presidents surrounding Obama specifically naming specific crimes yet curiously omits him? Strange that."Joe Biden has an opportunity to deliver change to America but nothing he has said thus far gives us any confidence he can reverse 40 years of drift, despondency and disillusion."
I believe that Mr Obama was one president during that 40 year period.
Perhaps the writer is afraid of BLM. You'd have to ask him.It calls out the presidents surrounding Obama specifically naming specific crimes yet curiously omits him? Strange that.
Thank you for clarifying. I respect your point of view.It is just that you asked if we agree with the article. I was disagreeing with a solid reason. Blessings!
I'm always a little happier when Obama is missing. Not likely

Perhaps a desire not to splinter and divide itself politically and morally, establishing little spinoff kingdoms within states that claim they are united as a nation of one?I mean what can you expect from a society as diverse as America?
Good observations. The slow rot: NAFTA, offshoring loss of manufacturing base
The Fast rot: Economic Collapse 2008
The slow rot: endless wars, balkanization, oligarchy, corruption
The Fast Rot: Government collapse 2020
The slow rot: The National Debt, stimulus instead of producing economy
The Fast rot: The Dollar collapses (Biden intends to print 15 trillion dollars. Japan has tricky means of monetizing that kind of debt but Japan currency is pegged to the dollar, I think)
Not certain when or if the slow rot will get to fast rot monetarily
I would say right now conditions on the ground are not ripe for revolution
However, depending on how and what happens over the next 2 to 4 years, conditions may deteriorate or other factors could arise (who predicted Covid 19?)
JMHO
