It tragically seems that embracing whatever gets one elected and keeps them in place is the name of the politics game. Term limits and a check on benefits is likely a good call that should have been implemented some time ago.

On the one hand, if it's adherence to & support of good, then good. On the other hand, if adherence to & support of bad, then bad. If bad outweighs the good then bad, and vice-versa.

The system was designed to provide some protections from tyrannies, but it was also passed on with the guidance of a need for virtues and protecting it. IOW, its success was not a given and some of those who passed it on knew this. Others could see it was doomed from the start.

With all of this, we have to discuss what is good and what is bad - what is virtuous and what is not. And there we ultimately in the big numbers will not find much agreement anymore in the US and we will see where the divide is rooted. Some of our issues are deep and not to be resolved. This "some" is growing in number and, as another poster alluded, can reach a limit that will no longer be accepted. Are we seeing those limits approaching? Or is this another business as usual emotional transition from one party to [supposedly] the other?

We are reaching a point of total control by the left. And I don't just mean in government. The left wing media, the left wing tech companies. Freedom of speech is already being smashed to pieces. Unless it is left wing speech. Then it's okay. But if it's conservative it right wing it's not. We are headed into dark days indeed.

Remember when Chris Cuomo said "Show me where it says protests are supposed to be polite and peaceful?". Where was the leftist outrage over that?

Here's the thing. The left in this country is LYING AGAIN. Trump did not tell his followers to riot not did he encourage them to do so. His words specifically said for the people there to march "peacefully and patriotically" to have their "voices" heard.

At NO TIME did Trump invite or incite the violence. If you believe he did then you better go after a LOT of people who apparently have invited the violence of the left this year.
