i was down trodden by the constant pounding of the devil through my depressive illness. i had been rock bottom, suicidal and ten thousand times past my coping point for 7 years. Church left me in the lurch because i had a psychotic illness and no one knew what to do with me. Most were frightened of me because i become violent when psychotic. It was down in this pit that Jesus was revealed in me.

"What you sow you shall harvest." He spoke the words while showing me how for all my life had agreed with every depressed thoughts that had come my way, and that is why i was rock bottom. i had build myself into my own destruction, that is why i was in the pit.

i repented right there and and then.

i threw all my books out of the window, apart of the bible, and devoured it. i began to rebuild myself with faith in God's word. In just three and half years i broke free from wanting to die and at 7 years i was so strong that i could be depressed at my worst and still believe Jesus loved me. As a matter of fact Jesus put every thing inside my heart upside down. Where i had suffered worst i now ruled beside Him over my life. Honest ever after Jesus crowned love for God and neighbour ruler of my heart.

My depressive illness is still with me, but i have learned to trust the Lord at His word, and not believe my depressive thoughts and feelings any longer. It is amazing what a difference this has made in my life. i don't have to stay in the pit any longer but can survive the onslaught of even my worst depressive bouts. It is amazing how strong Jesus can build us against bad life. Unbelievable! He set me free from all of my sins. Even very stubborn ones and continually teaches me through the word what it means to drink living waters.

All praise to Jesus for hearing the pleas from the broken hearted.

Psalms 34
I will extol the Lord at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
I will glory in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt his name together.

I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.

Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Fear the Lord, you his holy people,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
Come, my children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from telling lies.
Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry;
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to blot out their name from the earth.

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

The righteous person may have many troubles,
but the Lord delivers him from them all;
he protects all his bones,
not one of them will be broken.

Evil will slay the wicked;
the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
The Lord will rescue his servants;
no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

Thank you for sharing your testimony. It personally encourages me and also gives me hope for my wife who has struggled with mental illness and severe depression for decades. The Lord has been bringing healing and is bringing her to the point of breakthrough, but it has been a major, major struggle for both us. Thank you for the encouragement

i'm glad Jesus encouraged you with my testimony. Our Lord is really with the broken hearted but have the broken hearted got the faith in His word to know that? Faith in His loving truth got me out of my pit and i'm glad you testify of His greatness in your life as well.

i pray that Jesus makes both of you strong in His love and truth.:prayer:

Dear Jeshu,
I am sorry that the church whom you went to left you in the lurch. They should not have done that to you despite your past behaviors.
They should bear with you, forgive you,
prayed for your deliverance, and love you despite your weaknesses or inabilities.

I understand that some churches these days still unequiped to deal with these situations because they have not loved the Lord enough. If they have loved the Lord abundantly, they are more than ready to serve you by loving you as the Lord have shed His blood for you.

I am glad that you repented and have responded well to the Lord’s conviction of sins in your heart. And you chosen the right thing to love God and your neighbors and still continue to trust the Lord with His words.

I am concerned that your depressive illness still with you.

We have heard this :
This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life. -Psalms 119:50

When we were depressed, we need comfort. When the enemy attacked with depressive thoughts and feelings! Were we not afflicted ? We were. But how God’s promise gives us life? What He has promised ?

This is what we have heard the Lord have said :
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. -John 6:63

I understand that you may hear me say this many times but bear with me.

So, the Lord’s words when we receive in our hearts that bring life. When the Lord’s promise we treasure in our hearts, that brings life to our hearts.

Many people have read about what Jesus have said and promised but many have not treasured His words in their hearts.

When you ask them, pray according to God’s words or promises in the Bible. They can’t. Why ? They don’t remember! Even, when they open the Bible, some don’t know how to put God’s promises in prayers.

Aren’t we supposed to remind God of His promises? Yes. Do God forgets what He promises ? No. But He sets conditions to receive His promises by prayer and do what He have told us.

How are we supposed to say that we know God’s will if we can’t remember what He has said or promised? That is why it is important to remember His words in our hearts and minds so that we know how much He has loved us by giving us these many promises.

This is one of God’s promise that we have heard:
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. -1 John 5:12

How are we going to have the Son ? If we say that we already have the Son ! Why then we lived as if we didn’t have life ? Why were we still depressed ?

Why apostle Paul prayed this prayer:

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, -Ephesians 3:14
that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, -Ephesians 3:16
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith'that you, being rooted and grounded in love, -Ephesians 3:17
may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, -Ephesians 3:18
and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. -Ephesians 3:19

Again, why apostle Paul prayed to God the Father to grant us to be strengthen
with power through His Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith ?

Isn’t that we need God’s strength through His Holy Spirit in our inner being or our hearts?
Isn’t it obvious that we need the Holy Spirit’s help so that Christ may dwell in our hearts?

That is why we need to keep seeking the Heavenly Father to continue to give us the Holy Spirit so that Christ Jesus may dwell in our hearts through faith.

This is how we have the promise. When we have the Son, we have life according to what is written in 1 John 5:12.

When we remember many of God’s promises in our hearts and minds, pray over our life; indirectly, we submit ourselves to God’s will because we believe His promises for our life.
What is God’s purpose in doing this ?

This is what we have heard:
by which He has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. -2 Peter 1:4

When we identify our life with God’s promises which our Lord have said is Spirit that gives life, we become partakers of His divine nature so that we can escape from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. Including depression !

So choose to have life and love many days that you may see good things with the Lord in your heart !

May you be filled with God’s peace in full measure. To God be the glory. Amen.

Thank you for your comforting words. It is so true trust in Jesus brings us life - Newness of Life - Eternal life. Every day, even when depression rages at its worst, He brings me life, new life, His life. It is so good to participate in the divine nature. How gracious of Jesus to do so.

When i asked The Father to heal me many years ago, He said I made you for a purpose and for My glory, i didn't understand Him then - i was still so overcome by my depressed mind - that i didn't understand His words at the time. Only later it it began to dawn.

He is rebuilding me into His glory for His glory a depressed person. This has humbled me enormously that Jesus would dress miserable me with the Divine is beyond understanding, yet He does.

Honest Jesus gets good out of my bad times all the time. How powerful is He? He can get good life out of bad life. It has the wicked gnashing their teeth in my heart for they are in the pit i once was.

So i don't mind any longer that i have a depressive illness. i share my life with Jesus, both good and bad, and let His love remake me. i trust Him completely to complete the work to Father's glory. That is not something i can do in my own ability, that is why i'm so thankful Jesus gave me of His ability.

i will love Him forever for saving me from my sins and setting me free to suffer depression with dignity instead of down in that awful pit.

All glory to Jesus for getting me back on my feet again.

Peace.

Feasting My Good Life.

The Wicked captivated my truth
the truth of my heart and mind
and wound me around their lies
knotted me out of my own reality
into the dungeons of torture below.

Unable to unravel their cob webs
the wicked took control of my life
and brought much pain and misery
feasting on my God given good life
at the expense of my own welfare.

Yet when Christ light lit up my night
and i saw Him on the clouds of heaven
The Wicked sprung all their traps
thinking i was as good as dead
trapped in their nasty fowler's nets.

Yet the Lion of the tribe of Judea
killed the goats great and small
and set me free from their control
and gave me back my freedom in Him
feasting good times growing New Life.

This is what we have heard:

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. -Psalms 34:18

Let those who have been comforted by the Lord in their afflictions comfort those who are now afflicted with the comfort that they receive from the Lord.

Let us tell how the Lord is near.
Let us tell how the Lord saves those whose hearts are crushed.

How do we know the Lord is near to the broken hearted ? This is what we have heard:

For thus says the One who is high and lifted up,
who inhabits eternity,
whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place,
and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly,
and to revive the heart of the contrite. -Isaiah 57:15

When we were broken-hearted ! Were we not in distress ? Didn’t we long to be brought out of this distress ? Have we heard David in his distress ? Yes, we have heard the Lord brought him out of distress.

We heard David cried out to God :

Hear my prayer, O LORD; give ear to my pleas for mercy! In Your faithfulness answer me, in Your righteousness! -Psalms 143:1

Enter not into judgment with Your servant, for no one living is righteous before You. -Psalms 143:2

Didn’t we cry like this, too ? Were we not concerned about not being righteous before God ? Weren’t we afraid of God’s wrath ?

For the enemy has pursued my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead. -Psalms 143:3

When we were broken-hearted ! Were we not crushed? Were we not like those in the dark that nobody can perceive or understand us ?
Didn’t we long to be freed from the enemy’s oppression?

Therefore my spirit faints within me; my heart within me is appalled. -Psalms 143:4

When we were broken-hearted ! Didn’t our hearts faint ? Who can understand us ? Weren’t we appalled at our own condition ?

I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that you have done; I ponder the work of your hands. -Psalms 143:5

Why David remembered days of old ? Why
David meditate on all God have done ? Why David pondered on the work of God’s hands ?

This is what David have heard :
When I think of Your rules from of old, I take comfort, O LORD. -Psalms 119:52
Okay, if David have heard, how did David take comfort ? This is what we have heard:
This [comfort] has come to me,
because I observe your precepts.
- Psalms 119:56 CJB
So when David meditated on all God have done and pondered on the works of His hands, David found comfort.
If David can find comfort ! Why can’t we ? Yes, we can, too.

I stretch out my hands to You; my soul thirsts for You like a parched land. Selah -Psalms 143:6

Why David need to stretch his hands to God ? This is what we have also heard David have said :
Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice! -Psalms 141:2

But why David considered his soul or mind thirsty like a parched land ? Weren’t parched land means that the land was broken ? Yes, David’s heart was so broken that he cannot think. Just as a parched land is thirsty, so his
soul is thirsty for the living waters.

Selah ( Pause to reflect )

Answer me quickly, O LORD! My spirit fails! Hide not your face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the pit. -Psalms 143:7

When we were broken- hearted ! Didn’t we feel urgency for the Lord answer us with His help ? But why David concerned himself about the Lord hiding His face ? This is what we have heard:

(6) Once I was prosperous and used to say,
that nothing could ever shake me —
8 (7) when You showed me favor, Adonai,
I was firm as a mighty mountain.
But when You hid your face,
I was struck with terror.
-Psalms 30:6-7 CJB

That is why David appealed with sense of urgency asking God not to hide His face because David was struck with terror of those who went down to the pit.

Let me hear in the morning of Your steadfast love, for in You I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul. -Psalms 143:8

So dear brethren, let us pray that we may hear the steadfast love of the Lord every morning. For our Lord Jesus Christ is the bright morning star. Let us call to Him that He make us know the way we should go.

Deliver me from my enemies, O LORD! I have fled to you for refuge. -Psalms 143:9

Yes, let us call out to the Lord to deliver us. Let us take refuge in our Lord’s wounds. For there, we find healing.

Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God! Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground! -Psalms 143:10

Yes, let us be willing to be taught concerning His will. Let us allow Holy Spirit to lead us on the righteous path.

For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve my life! In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble! -Psalms 143:11

Yes, let us understand the Lord’s goodness, that for the sake of His name, the Lord is willing to save us. So, let us continue to be faithful to Him.

Let us remember the Lord’s righteousness that bring our souls out of trouble so that we don’t incur God’s wrath.

And in your steadfast love you will cut off my enemies, and you will destroy all the adversaries of my soul, for I am your servant. -Psalms 143:12

Yes, let us remember our Lord’s steadfast love that cut off our enemies. How ? This is what we have heard:

11 Also it was in union with him that you were circumcised with a circumcision not done by human hands, but accomplished by stripping away the old nature’s control over the body. In this circumcision done by the Messiah, 12 you were buried along with him by being immersed; and in union with him, you were also raised up along with him by God’s faithfulness that worked when he raised Yeshua from the dead. 13 You were dead because of your sins, that is, because of your “foreskin,” your old nature. But God made you alive along with the Messiah by forgiving you all your sins. 14 He wiped away the bill of charges against us. Because of the regulations, it stood as a testimony against us; but he removed it by nailing it to the execution-stake. 15 Stripping the rulers and authorities of their power, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by means of the stake.- Colossians 2:11-15 CJB

Therefore, let us meditate the Lord’s precepts so that our Lord’s comfort will come to us and heal our broken-heart.

I am grateful. It could always be worse. Praise the Lord. I was in a horrible pit at 12. It has been a long slow growth since then. It will never be all the way fixed but am grateful to be with Him in it. My affliction brought me to Christ and keeps me there. It is new life and not for destruction. Believe it or not we can handle it. Jesus makes it possible. There is pleasure in afflictions and joy in trials. The joy of the Lord is our strength.’
