The early part of this discussion, ''no'' had the majority in the poll. Now ''yes'' has the majority.

One possibility is vote changing. Hence why I don't put that option in when I make a poll, people are fickle.
I have it because I’ve accidentally voted wrong. Plus, I had hopes that those who voted yes would come to see their error and change their vote. ;)

Didn't really think of this.

Mr. Hammster sir, you truly are the smartest, far seeing and likeable rodent on our forum. :)

Joke aside, yes it would be nice if they come round to the ''no'' option.

So with every thought, word and deed you are constantly thinking of God and His glory, except when you accidentally forget?

Not everything in the Bible is meant to be taken literally. Can you fart for the Lord? Can you blow your nose for the Lord? Can you slip on a banana peel for the Lord? If not are these a sin?

Yes. Yes. Why would I?

This thread is to discuss the topic. Perhaps people are weighing the evidence and see another perspective.

Disobedience is an act of rebellion. Who are you rebelling against when you sin?

At those times that you rebelled against your mom and dad, you were not acting in a loving way, it did you stop loving them? Did they no longer love you?

Exactly how do you fart for the Lord?
I should be thankful for the process He’s put in place in our bodies for excess gas to be removed.

I was definitely loving myself more. And that’s idolatry when we love ourselves more than we love God. We are saying that He has no authority over us in that instance.

You didn’t answer my question. I’ll grant you rebellion is not an act of love, but does God stop loving us?

Does that time of rebellion break our covenant with God? Have you lost your Salvation?

can I be wrong in my head and still be right in my heart?

Isn’t it my love for God that brings me to repentance?

Why do so many keep flipping the script? This isn’t about God’s love for us.

I asked Hamster why Jesus would tell us to do something (love God with all our heart) if we can't do it. His answer was:

Do you have the same answer or another one?
Another answer, (and no, Hammster is not wrong), is that we would constantly choose to head that direction, to seek after that, and to see the importance of it.

It's not like there aren't other answers too. God usually has many many reasons for what he does. None of his creation, efforts, deeds, works, are without purpose.

Let me try this a different way -

What are the consequences of not being able to Love God with your whole heart?

Yes, I think you misunderstood him. Everything that happens is for the glory of God, in the long run, regardless of our intentions or abilities. "Explicitly intended for the glory of God" does not justify anyone's deeds or even thoughts. It is because of the Spirit of God in us that anything we do has any value behind the intention.
How about devil worship? Is devil worship for the glory of God?

Again, if loving God with all your heart is an impossible command then God would not be technically telling us the truth. John 17:17 says His Word is truth. Hebrews 6:18 says it is impossible for God to lie. If the 1st greatest commandment could only be fulfilled when we die, then there is no purpose in God giving us these instructions here on this Earth. He would simply wait to give them to us in His Kingdom. Also, where in Scripture does it say that we can only fulfill this greatest commandment in His kingdom only? Where in Scripture does Jesus and His followers say that He gave us these commands to show that we cannot keep them? This first greatest commandment (except the portion that says to love God with all your mind) was given way back in Deuteronomy 6 and Deuteronomy 10.

Paul basically says if any man speaks contrary to the words of Jesus and the doctrine according to godliness, he is proud and he knows nothing (1 Timothy 6:3-4). James 4:6 says God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.

Jesus says that everyone who does not do what he says is like a fool who built his house upon the sand and when a storm came great was the fall of that house (Matthew 7:26-27). This was said in context to Jesus talking about how there were believers who did wonderful works in His name but He told them to depart from Him because they also worked iniquity, too (Matthew 7:23). Iniquity is a form of sin. Sin is transgression of the Law or God's commandment (1 John 3:4). So they were cast out because they broke God's laws.

Even Revelation 22:14-15 (the end of our Bible) says this:

“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” (Revelation 22:14-15).

Matthew 13:41-42 warns us believers that the Son of Man (JESUS) will send forth His angels and they will gather out of HIS KINGDOM all things that offend (i.e. anything that makes one to stumble into sin like false beliefs that justify sin) and those who work iniquity and they will be cast into the furnace of fire (i.e. the Lake of Fire).

Jesus says that if we do not receive His words, those words will judge us on the last day (John 12:48). What words of Jesus do many Christians today not receive? Well, the first greatest commandment is one of them that they do not accept.

For one is not receiving the 1st greatest commandment of Jesus if they do not think it applies to them in this life. For Jesus never gave us any hints or clues that we can only obey Him after we die. Jesus told two people to, “sin no more.” (See: John 5:14, John 8:11).

Note: For the reference of this post, I am talking in context to mortal sin. For believers need to overcome mortal sin in this life.

Christ calls us to a radical life compared to people of the world. Do you think we will live radically if we don't have to? If we actually have to do what Jesus says, isn't it more likely we live radically?
