When God did not answer prayer and He also did not put his words in my mind,
I really don't know what is in God's mind?
Whether I have to continue praying for the same thing or stop praying?
Some prayers has continued for 20 years and God never showed me his will.
I feel frustrated and grumbled against God.

God is not like a genie in a lamp -- we cannot use God - He uses us. We surrender to His will and He takes control of our lives.

Here is a short devotional that will give you all the keys.

Hi layhong,

If you want to know God's will just get out His book. It's all there.

God's will is that His children love one another.

God's will is that we love Him and His Son.

God's will is that all men come to the knowledge of the Lord's salvation.

God's will is that we live rightly in His sight.

It's all in the Scriptures for which God gave unto mankind that we may know Him and know His will for each one of us.

God bless,
ted

Seriously, not to make light of your situation but when you embrace “Thy will be done” your faith grows and peace follows.

We learn to pray rightly loving Him and neighbour. Very important that we should do that.

Seek Jesus' Spirit out in your life so He can teach you all things. To love will always be the core. The more we learn to love God and neighbour the purer our prayers become.

God has 3 responses to prayer: yes, no and wait. There are conditions. We need to pray according to God's will and in the name of the Lord Jesus. When we pray according to God's will, we can be sure that He hears us. God's will is generally revealed in His word. Also, there must be no unconfessed sin and unforgiveness also hinders prayers.

From my understanding, God works depending on the degree of faith you have. He does surprises us sometimes, but most of the time He gives us what we need, not what we want. That's why some people use some methods to heal a headache and others use the Word. You can always ask God for faith; you can always grow in faith.

Also, there are many reasons why a prayers are not answered; it can be that what you are asking is not His will, you are expecting Him to answer a certain way while He keeps answering another way, the devil could be in the way, maybe God is speaking to you through dreams and you are not understanding what He's saying, maybe you are sinning or maybe there's a generational curse or personal lie that is blocking the prayer. Either way, I just learned to learn what's His will is and then be in agreement and pray what He says. We find His will in Jesus.

God needs to be specific to our needs, not general comments.
Every individual needs different helps, if God cannot be specific then he is not a personal God.

Sorry, please may you elaborate on what you have been praying for? From what I read in the bible God is not based on our individualistic cultures, he's more based on interconnectedness. Secondly are you saying that God has not answered a single prayer of yours. Even Lazarus was raised from the dead, but died. Peter escaped jail from but went to jail killed for his faith. Even Jesus begged that the yoke be removed from Him, but cried not my will but yours be done. His will was for Jesus to die on our behalf.

I think we've created a God in our mind with presuppositions of what he should and should not be. I hear you because I have recently struggled with the same thing. 2 things come to mind.
1. I wanted and believed God for a natural birth, I didn't get it, I was devastated!
2. We were moving and I wanted God to give me a perfect house at my budget. We settled for number 2. I was really hurt.

From this I have learnt that God is actually very good to us, yes he didn't give me what I wanted, but today I am grateful to have 2 healthy kids, which may not have happened had I given natural birth and I am grateful for the house he's given us. Secondly we have to learn to trust him even when it doesn't make sense, He sees it all. Having an analogy using my kids, they have to trust me when I say no to buying sweets on some days and yes for their enjoyment, does it mean I am not personal with my kids? No it means I am actually more personal than they can understand. I can see the end and if I pump then with all the junk they want, tomorrow they will pay for it. So I say no, my 3 year old gets really hurt when I do that, my 6 year old sometimes understands better.

I will leave it at that. I think I am rambling now.

I prayed for 28 yearsa for my husband. It was answered before he died. He finally gave his heart to the Lord. It was a long time---but it happened. People have free will. God does not force---for 2 mths my husband was in the hospital. In those 2 months, God saved his life 6 times, including one full blown heart attack where they recusitated him and he was on a vent for 1 week. He came home for 2 days and died in my arms. It was worth the wait. I'm glad I did not give up.

Jesus taught us to pray in this regard...

Luke 22:42 (KJV) Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
it does not make sense to compare with this verse, totally different context.

If we have to blindly make a lot of assumptions about God's will, what's the point to pray for something.
In the context of what Jesus promise that he will answer our prayers, thing is just simple, let God answer our prayer directly, like the parents answer the request of their children.
There are many people pray some simple things like asking God's help when they are running out of resources, therefore they seek God, but many prayers are not answered directly, no clue that there is a God listening to them.
End of the day, the people who prayed have to create excuses for God, so that God will not be embarrassed.

Philippians 4

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Do you think Paul was creating excuses for God there?

Nothing has the ability to strip away human pretense and false humility like adversity. It has a way of revealing who we really are, what we are made of and how we view life. But also adversity reveals our view of God and our ability to trust Him in difficult situations. Within every problem or sorrow is a hidden blessings as well as an opportunity for a lesson of faith. Paul's "thorn in the flesh" kept him humble and focused on the efficiency of Christ, asked God to show you the blessings he has for you and the lessons he wants you to learn.

Sure you do. Just read His word, the Bible. His mind is revealed to you in it.

God never says when He'll answer our prayers or even if He'll answer our prayers. Sometimes He says, "Yes," but He also says, "Wait" and, "No."

Pray the prayers of Scripture, the prayers of the apostle Paul. Or just pray what you know God has said in His word that He wants.

Your opinion. It helps me from feeling frustrated or to grumble against God, which you said (in context) you were going through.
