Because preventable illness is so often a moral failing.
I did not specifically think of that perspective before.
It fits, or not? with "for not knowing what to do, people get sick (and perish)" ?

If they knew what to do, a lot fewer would be sick, at least not from what causes most illnesses since decades ago.

I'm not sure if "not knowing" is equivalent to "moral failing" ... ?

I am an extremely fast eater and I have been worried about this.

I have been using chopsticks for some foods, it certainly slows me down.
I have some that click together to help if you can't use ordinary ones.
They're genius!

A great point. I've been a big proponent of extra chewing since learning in college that after starch leaves your mouth it doesn't get much of another chance to be digested until the small intestine. If you don't give it a good amylase bath first it'll just sit around, blocking your stomach juices from getting at the protein, their main target.

Point 7 is really interesting. I hadn't realized that function of lysozymes. Looking it up further, I found that they are prevalent in egg whites. Heading into eggnog season, we can set our minds at ease by letting the nog set for a little while to give the enzymes plenty of time to break down any nefarious buggies.

Not knowing is often 'willful ignorance'.

Makes you wonder if 'health smoothies' are really that healthy as they are ingested quickly without the benefit of mixing with saliva gland enzymes.

I have been the last to leave the table for many years. Not because I was that conscientious about chewing but because I have a slight constriction in my throat that prevents me from swallowing without really chewing my food well. This might explain why I have been the most healthy of my entire family and that I have outlived just about everyone I know (not that I haven't had some health issues).

Often also, it is deception by oppressors who do not want cures known.

Our general ignorance and attitude toward health has made many in the healthcare industry rich. This ignorance has bankrupted and destroyed many lives as well. The current attitude by many regarding Covid is testament to this ignorance and attitude.

The gullible crowds just go along with what they are told 'officially', without doing anything to actually test it and find out what is going on. God warns us in the Bible the whole world would go this way, and to test everyone, everything - do not accept what is said until it is proven true (not by the ones presenting it)....
The testing methods used by those who are honestly searching for the truth can fail them if they don't realize some testing methods are fraudulent to start with.
ergo, it is best to rely on God for all things, and always to keep seeking what is good and right and truth. Keep questioning the established ideas, and watch for lies, and watch for the truth too - if someone tells the truth, it will pass all the necessary and true tests and it will be in simple true harmony with all God's Word and with all that is true.

Good points. "Hold(ing) fast to that which is true" should be the building blocks of one's life.
