For that to happen needs an overhaul of the system. Because without interference means they can be who they are without facing prejudice.

Being who they are doesn't necessarily mean breaking the law. Blacks have a distinct culture which should be encouraged, cultivated, instead of being discriminated if they don't act and dress like whites.

Many elements of their 'distinct culture' are what is holding them back.

There is nothing stopping blacks from fully taking part in free enterprise. Capitalism is the ultimate meritocracy. Come up with better ideas, produce better products, offer better or greater services, work harder than the next guy and you'll be rewarded. Don't do those things and you'll end up on the losing end. We know that exists on an individual level, it also exists on a macro level. Sears, Wards, K-Mart etc. are all companies that failed to innovate and failed as a result. Amazon is king of the hill now, if it doesn't continue to innovate it will be in the ash heap of retail history. For all we know, the next Jeff Bezos is some black kid who comes up with a new idea to better get products to customers.

If 90% of black resources are spent on goods produced by whites that isn't the fault of the community. It's the inability of black entrepreneurs to recognize demand and develop products to meet their needs.

Most of the businesses in black neighborhoods aren't owned by the populace. Nor are children advised to pursue self-employment. They're told to get a job. Work should be an avenue towards financial autonomy. Not the only option.

That was actually never possible, even in Rome. Roman citizens had the government-enforced liberty to do things that non-citizens could not. That is ultimately why the barbarians sacked Rome. The alternative is to, as a group, stop defining themselves by the color of their skin and to stop pretending like "blackness" is akin to being a criminal, gangster, lazy, anti-intellectual and late. No other group in America defines themselves by their skin color or uplifts the worst people in their community as pillars of goodness and right. (Floyd, Martin etc.) Until blacks as individuals decide to focus on faith, family, hard work and intelect they will never get anywhere in society. Free enterprise doesn't reward gangsters, it doesn't reward people with 5 baby daddies/mamas. It doesn't matter whether we're talking about inner city blacks or rural whites (their problems are nearly identical).

Your comment reminded me of a group I joined in the past. The premise was etiquette. Most of the members were women of color. They shared tips and personal development pursuits. They went above and beyond. The goal was snagging a wealthy man. In spite of their efforts, there was a consciousness which never left.

It never dawned on them to apply their energy towards wealth acquisition. They relied on someone else to provide the life they craved. The majority wanted a Caucasian man. They felt entitled to his money. The atmosphere sickened me.

There's a lot of people in the world who want the good life. But they aren't willing to work for it. They want someone else to do it for them. The audacity is disturbing.

Being in their presence reinforced an important principle. Every one needs skin in the game. When you have nothing and have never built anything, you don't appreciate what it takes to acquire wealth. You don't value it or respect it.

There's a long held belief that Caucasian men don't date black women. More than a few feel he'll never marry her. Nabbing a wealthy one is a status symbol for some. It isn't 'supposed' to happen.

I can't speak about the dating habits of black men. But I've read there's a growing trend of Asian men and black women.

I was referring mainly to the 'matriarchal' attitudes of many black women, which of course is Afro-centric. American society is good ground for this to develop in the black culture.

They were gold diggers. It really disturbed me to hear them talk about men. He's not an ATM. There was no empathy or expression of concern for his welfare. Just money and what they acquired from them.

The American Caucasian patrimony lifts the white male as the epitome of masculinity and the white female as the epitomy of femininity, and for 400 years that's been the only model presented to blacks in America.

Other ethnic groups came to America with their own identities--their own ways of defining masculinity and femininity, their own ways of relating to one another, their own concepts of economics, fully intact, and they lived within their culture while gaining a foothold in America.

Black people in America were never thriving and will never thrive on the entrails of white American culture.

Something I've long noted about the pairings of white men and black women: When a white male has gotten over the race hurdle in the first place, he doesn't look at actual skin tone. White men are not "colorist."
