How Many People Use Facebook? Facebook has 2.60 billion monthly active users (Facebook, 2020). If that number doesn't blow you away, it also has 1.73 billion users that are visiting the social networking site on a daily basis.

I've used it for YEARS. Never a problem.

I use it out of a particular necessity, but I don't like it, and would never have signed up if it weren't for that necessity.

As a missionary I find Facebook to be an invaluable tool for connecting with people, keeping them up to date, and getting them involved and engaged with the ministry. It's also an excellent instrument to use for connecting with, and sharing information with, others in ministry.

For me, that creeps me out. There are some I do not want contact with again. I always said if I joined, it would be private and only by invite. Not sure that’s possible there but it does amaze me how many out their lives out there along with their family members for all to stalk.

You can change your privacy settings so that only those you have chosen can see your updates.

This is what I've done. I don't share any photos of myself or my family. I don't post anything personal. My profile is completely private, so only "friends" can view it, and there's very little to see as it is. I think the last thing I shared with everyone (and my group of "friends" is tiny, just immediate family and a few friends) was a photo from my hike last weekend.

Not you. I find the whole FB layout creepy and people willingly exposing themselves on the platform. I’m very introverted myself and do not want invasive contacts from people I never kept in contact with. Supposedly private or not, I do not trust the platform and more so now.

Nobody can contact me or see my profile or posts unless I've "friended" them. I get friend requests all the time from vague, distant, or old acquaintances that I have no wish to reconnect with. I just deny them. While I think FB overall is quite corrupt and absolutely politically biased, I don't worry about random stalkers or creepers accessing my information.

I've used Facebook for years and find it useful to stay in touch with distant family and friends. The platform is as good as what you put into it or keep out of it. You can reveal much or little about yourself. You can use it as a bully pulpit espousing your political views or you can just use it to see how Aunt Bessie's flower garden is doing in Idaho. I have bigger problems with FB users than its platform. But "Unfollow" and "Unfriend" take care of that quite easily.

I like Facebook, though the recent change in layout has been annoying. Facebook Purity and Social Fixer, two addons that allow you to customize Facebook, have been struggling to continue making it possible for people to switch back to the old Facebook layout, but Facebook has been actively attempting to thwart those addons. This in and of itself is annoying; why should Facebook care if not all its users want the new layout? As long as they're using it, you’d think Facebook would be happy. There has been an exodus from Facebook to another, similar platform called MeWe, which doesn't have the algorithms messing with your newsfeed (things display chronologically rather than according to whatever Facebook thinks you want to see at any given time) and values privacy a bit more (or so they say).

Facebook irritates me. I may close my account permanently due to reasons of getting alerts at all times of the day. Many of those alerts are from people/places I never once liked or subscribed too. I only have Facebook to keep up with my old man and my uncle, but they call me more now due to the pandemic. So I may close it. I just worry if I close it how my family can get a hold of me.

I've been using it since the days when you needed a college email address to join. I liked it a lot more back then. Now, I find it is a cesspool, even among family. I don't like that it replaces real conversation and social interaction. I might abandon my account and opt only to use Messenger, which is useful because it doesn't require you to give out your phone number (which can be problematic, even among family). Even the religious groups on Facebook can be toxic. And the politics... ugh. I just don't want to see it, especially not from family and friends.

I use Facebook for professional reasons. I don't friend real time connections. I talk to them outside of social media platforms.

I don't mind Facebook. It's easy to keep in contact with out of town friends when they share their pics and stuff. I hardly post on Facebook I mostly just use the messenger.
Also my church has been using Facebook a lot especially since the pandemic so that's the best way to keep up with my church news and such.

I use Facebook quite frequently. Thank the LORD no one has hacked my accounts. However they have done so to family members. Very frustrating. Though the platform is good IMHO. Have a great evening!
