John 6:61. When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this,
He said to them, Does this offend you?
John 16:
1 These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be offended.
2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever
kills you will think that he offers God service.
3 And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.
4 But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that
I told you of them. And these things I did not say to you
at the beginning, because I was with you.
Matthew 24:10. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will
hate one another.
Matthew 13:57. So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them,
A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.
Matthew 17:7. Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come,
but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!
Luke 7:23. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.
This requires the circumcision of Christ, in the heart, for the carnal mind thrives on recognition,
approval, commendations and compliments and due respect from others.
It is a disease of the heart, and is the reason the flesh is easily offended by an even
minor slight.
John 5:44. How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?
41 I do not receive honor from men.
He said to them, Does this offend you?
