It's over. No point in denying the fact. Even without Pennsylvania, Biden still wins. And no recount in the history of the United States had succeeded in changing a lead that huge.

Updated this morning, Biden is up by just under 50,000 votes.

And there are more mail-in votes to be counted. Not enough to swing the result, though.

I know what Trump probably trying to do. He is using legal actions as an excuse to delay White House transition just like he used the IRS audit as an excuse for delaying the release of his tax return. So that way, he is making changes to the military establishment and other government agencies under his control, making things harder for Biden to govern. Soon, he will hold launch rallies or set up PAC to collect fund to settle his old debt. He won't concede until the result of the upcoming Georgia Senate runoff on January 3rd. Lastly, he may find a way to get himself pardon for all crimes before he leaves White House.

It's over. Biden in increasing his lead as the final ballots are counted. He'll likely end up with 306 electoral votes, which Trump says is a landslide.

No, the simple and plain truth is President Trump lost, Joe Biden is going to be the next president and all the hand wringing and posturing from the White House and his base isn't going to change that in the least.

I've presented information that adds up to the conclusion that it's not reasonable to claim that Republicans departing from Trump cost him the election. And in order to disprove that, you tell me that you personally know
"several Republican friends" who did??

Okay, there probably were a handful who fit the bill--far fewer than Democrats who switched away from Biden--but nothing that would matter overall.

The Lincoln Project people are all Republicans or were and are now Independents because of Trump. They ran millions of dollars worth of ads in order to get Biden elected. Why, to get rid of Trump, that was the only reason. They want Trumpism out of their party and back to the respectable party that it once was.

Then there is the Republican Voters Against Trump, the RVAT, who also ran ads and many, many Republicans posted their short testamonies on the RVAT site and on YouTube. One was posted by @Halbhh. There is one that I found particularly convincing because of who he was in the Republican party and not only him by his father and grandfather but I can't remember his name. Comes down to evidence. And there is no evidence of widespread fraud or error. Which is why so many of his frivolous lawsuits have already been dismissed immediately.

That is why there are lawsuits and calls for recounts. Until then - no one has won.

Each time one of those fake lawsuits got dismissed, America won. And Trump lost.

One of two things will happen. Either Trump will fold and the republican party will go back to a group with some integrity and decency, or Trump will continue to dominate it, and all those republicans who couldn't tolerate his behavior will go elsewhere.

Even if he manages to stay out of jail (and it looks like at least some of the indictments are going to be state charges that neither he nor Pence could pardon), he'll have an increasingly weakened base by 2024.
