Have any of you been to a Trump rally?

Just curious.

Did you get COVID?
Did you have to sign a waiver absolving them of responsibility?
Did any attendees you know die?
Were any (If you attended recently) picked up by ambulance for heat stroke or pneumonia?

The only rally near us was in Tulsa, where Herman Cain died. I just tried to avoid public places in the week that followed, but the numbers were so small compared to the numbers now.

I am asking because I am honestly concerned. I would not go to any crowded event right now--theater, concerts, sporting events, etc.

On the other hand, I have not heard of anyone at a Trump rally getting sick and died (although TBT I don't have any close friends or relatives who are Trump supporters, and try to stick to safer subjects with those who do).

I have never attended a Trump rally or any political rally for that matter . I do not like crowds ( particularly loud crowds) with or without co-vid around.

Nope , I’m a neverTrumper. If we didn’t have Covid to deal with I might have gone out of curiosity but not with him giving out the lies he has and risking people’s lives. If they’d have shown me that waiver I would have turned around and gone back home

One of my best friends, a yellow-dog Democrat, went to a Trump rally with a few others during the 2016 and she felt the crowd was very hostile (although none of them were wearing clothing indicating any political position one way or the other.)

I have never had any desire to attend a Trump rally. I have heard some Republicans speak here. I once heard Mike Huckabee and was shocked to discover that he had real charisma. It was the same kind of charisma I felt when I saw RFK walk in the St. Patrick's Day parade in NY shortly before his death (but of course I agreed with RFK's politics.)

Obviously some people must feel Trump has charisma. Living where I live, I know many people who knew Bill Clinton. They told me that the first time you met him his charisma was so powerful you actually would feel faint--but that it got weaker with exposure. I imagine it would be the same with Trump, although I think the two are very different.

My first rally ever in my life was at ORU Maybee Center in 2016. Trump came and it was curiosity more than anything.

He was not my pick until it came down to him and Hillary and then I had no choice.

There was no China virus at the time so people had to come up with other digs than the ones in the OP

I went to the Trump Rally in Tulsa

no covid
No issues

enjoyed the time

every time I have the misfortune of hearing Miss Maddow I feel my brain cells dying.
I am glad you were safe. Of course the numbers were much, much lower then. Oklahoma has about 120,000 cases now.
I did not intend any of that as a dig. I am honestly curious. I am a senior citizen and I would not have gone to any rally to see any politician this year. I only see my friends on Zoom or in socially distanced outdoor events.
I hope that people are not becoming seriously ill at Trump rallies, but I think of the Rose Garden event. One of my friends died, and two others have long hauler disease, something I would not wish on anyone. I have other friends who have recovered.
Many immigrants who worked at the chicken plant have become ill, and
number of them have died. Others have been on respirators. The only person who was over 70 was the one who died.

Two days ago, Joe Biden had "drive -in rally" in Warm Springs, Ga. A local reported here in my home state was there and said that there were more Trump supporters than Biden supporters, like 10 to 1. Biden changed the speaking location for... undisclosed reasons.

A better question is why do you have a dishonest job growth graph as your signature. Post the numbers before the virus. Doing that is like criticizing Mayor Ray Nagin for lost jobs in New Orleans after Katrina, LOL. Truly, you must see that.

I don't find it dishonest. Other countries who handled this crisis well fared far better both economically and medically.

Even today, after our cases grew by 101,000 in 24 hours!, we are told "no problem."

His incompetence in dealing with the pandemic as "a crisis in his hotel businesses' profit" is a significant reason for our economic and medical crisis.

The stock market plummeted this week as cases soared out of control. Not a coincidence.

So i can be indoctrinated with dishonesty, arrogance, pride, taking the victim stance, deflecting uncomfortable questions by attacking others, hatred, anger and selfishness?

Ill sit this one out. But for the record, i wouldnt want to hear Joe Biden speak either

Thanks for your input.

Just last night (on SNL) I learned that Stanford University had done a study to learn how many people caught COVID and died after attending Trump rallies.

Trump Rallies Led to 30,000 COVID Cases and 700 Deaths According to Stanford Study

Obviously this is imprecise but their methodology is explained in the article and I believe it is a valid line of research.

That is more than the entire country of S. Korea (52 million population, got its first case on the same day we did) has had to date!

Are experts still maintaining that 8 months of BLM protests and riots decreased the spread of a highly contagious respiratory disease? Why were BLM protestors excluded from contact tracing? Should a BLM protestor with Covid not be isolated from visiting a hospital or grocery store?

Those BLM protests did not require any police breakup, but churches required being locked down? You are on a Christian forum - do you agree with churches being locked down for safety, while BLM protests were left unchecked through most of the densest cities in the US?

Can you explain to me the rationality you have of focusing on Trump rally's and dismissing 8 months of lagging indicator cases that were likely caused by BLM protestors?

May the Lord bless you as the entire country needs Christs love, and not division or the bearing of false witness.

Maybe because we expect leadership and role modeling out of the President of the United States?
