So what? Her nomination to the Supreme Court is the biggest travesty of justice that has occurred in this country for a long, long time. She is the result of extremely corrupt, partisan politics.

Hopefully, Vice President Biden will be President in January and will increase the number of Justices to balance the Court to reflect the will of all the people.

So now we’re guaranteed some balance if Trump loses. I’d trade years of right mindedness for a 4 year presidential term if necessary.

Stacking the deck in your favour is not balance lol

Why is Clarence Thomas doing it? I thought the constitutional oath was normally administered by the chief justice; he did it for the last 5 justices. (Kavanaugh and Gorsuch had the separate judicial oath administered by Anthony Kennedy rather than John Roberts, though, probably because they clerked for him previously)

Should the Democrats win the Senate they should move ahead to expand the court. The new rules the Republicans gave us are that you can have whatever you can get away with when you’re in power.

I don’t deal in hypotheticals.

Except it isn't. We saw what happened with a Republican dominated Senate under Obama -- particularly when Trump won the election. It is amazing to me that many here can with a straight face claim that "a President is elected for 4 years," when just 4 years ago they were claiming that we needed to wait to "let the voters decide."

We've already seen the hypocrisy of the right, it isn't a hypothetical.

(Note: I'm not claiming the Democrats are any better)

I think Trump is likely to win this election. But if Biden does win it will have been worth it to confirm three justices that are going to make decisions based on the law. The dems could pack the court but I am not sure they will. It is unpopular.
