New York Times: Tax records show Trump maintains Chinese bank account - CNNPolitics
President Donald Trump's tax records show he has pursued expansive business projects in China for years and even maintains a Chinese bank account, The New York Times reported Tuesday, disclosures that deal a blow to the President's efforts to paint Democratic nominee Joe Biden as the presidential candidate who is soft on China.
I thought this part was particularly interesting:
The Chinese account, the newspaper said, is controlled by Trump International Hotels Management and it paid $188,561 in taxes in the country from 2013 to 2015.
which means he paid China quite a bit more in taxes than he paid here.
tulc(guesses "America First" doesn't include taxes) :sorry:

Either it's true or it's false. If it's true, it's a violation of non-disclosure laws. If it's false, it's libel. Either way, the New York Times broke the law. Needless to say, I don't see Facebook or Twitter doing anything to suppress this story.

Which twitter or FB rules does the story contravene?

He paid lawful taxes here and he paid lawful taxes there. That's what he's supposed to do.

Lol you should consider using a standard post, something like ‘I don’t know what Trump did this time but it is fine. Anything he does is right by definition’. It could save you some time thinking up different variations on that.

Trump encouraged Russian espionage on national TV when he asked Russia to release Hillary’s emails. No complaints from right wing extremists about it.

Trump said it is treason to investigate the Russian hacking of the DNC. His wife was born in a nation allied with Soviet Russia.

Trump's corporations are not required to submit disclosure paperwork. Corporations are separate entities from their stockholders. So while a corporation Trump has an interest in may have a Chinese bank account, Trump himself does not. I imagine in order to conduct business in China it would be necessary for a corporation to have a bank account there much like it is necessary to have a bank account here to conduct business in the US. None of this is particularly shocking.

Do you really think the First Lady is a Communist? Come on man, there is nothing in her history that suggests she's a Communist or pro-Soviet. The fact that she got out of the eastern bloc as soon as she could suggests she's anything but a commie.

It surprises you that he pays more taxes for doing business in a Socialist nation than the U.S.? Why does this come as a surprise?

Trump praised Putin, an ex- Soviet KGB agent turned dictator. The Trump campaign learned the Russians hacked the DNC via George Papadopoulis. Roger Stone went to Wikileaks in advance of the publication of DNC documents stolen by Russian military intelligence hackers who were since indicted for violating U.S. law. Roger Stone was convicted, then pardoned by Trump.

But doesn’t that just apply to the person who leaked it?

Does it? Do laws against theft just apply the person who steals, or do they also apply to receives stolen property, knowing it was stolen, and resells it?

It protects the confidentiality of Chinese tax returns and Chinese tax information?

It protects the confidentiality of US citizens' foreign bank accounts, since such accounts are disclosed to the IRS.

Im not aware of a case where the press was prosecuted for publishing this kind of leak. It’s also a bit of a red herring. Generally speaking, leaks that expose the government as being dishonest, corrupt, or compromised are seen as positive for citizens. Considering the president’s rhetoric about China, the fact that he has a bank account there is relevant.

So that means Mrs. Trump is a Communist?

These don't concern the government, they concern Trump's personal tax information - from before he was President.

Would you say that about Wikileaks publishing the DNC's internal emails exposing the rigging of the Democratic primary against Bernie Sanders? Some people have blamed that for Hillary Clinton's losing the election. What about the New York Post's current story on Hunter Biden?
