With the ‘increase’ of knowledge and information’s rate of transmission, I think its safe to say the global mindset has chosen to adapt the incorrect mind of the flesh in all things Christian, which began with the Lord’s comment pre-death, post-trial. This faulty logic dealing with Christ Jesus to God’s will itself, processed through the “mind of the flesh” remains a passive understanding of that will. What loss of surety did the sheep have then, that it does not have now?
I take exception to the vast scholarly/theological conclusion, that Jesus was ‘speaking of Himself’ mentioning the ‘green tree’, as if He himself said was subject to corruption (He was, is and shall ever be - perfect). It was “they” whom took action to “do these things” Jesus spoke of here, not Him and not the Romans, but that revered sect looked upon as holding the reigns of ‘sacred’ power, but, as most of us come to know didn’t set well with that power,

“From now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.” Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, “He has spoken blasphemy!
