As a European very interested in contemporary history of USA and it's role in the world, it's very clear to me that people all over the world is living in fear for what might happen if the greatest military power in the world will continue on the path it's been following with the Republican party and how Trump and those who work for him, is declared a danger to democracy by many and it's almost turning into a cliche how people are leaving the current administration in disgust of what is going on in the White House, and even if there in USA are people that think that the coming election is a matter for Americans and that politics is a private matter, they would normally be right, but this time the outcome is clearly a matter of not only national security, but of the stability of the world. So I pray that Biden win in this election, or rather that Trump lose, since it's not a matter of politics anymore, but if the the stability of the world since WW2 ended will continue or not.
Also as a Christian it's so clear to see how many Churches have been infiltrated by political influence, and because of this many now blaspheme Jesus and the Cross, because they think Christians are on the side of corruption, hypocrisy, anti-intellectual, pseudo-scientific ideas etc. and it also seem that many Christians think they must have a certain political opinion, and even think God are on the side of conservative, right-wing ideologies, just as long as these look good on the outside, no matter how rotten it is on the inside.
Because of this Christians as a whole are getting painted a target on them, and anyone that know the history of the church also know that we have been persecuted (and still are to this day), tortured and murdered, even when the body of Christ was not divided, and when Christians gathered did not have wolves in sheep's clothing in their midst, and when only lies and evil could be seen in anyone that made themselves an opponent of Christianity. But these days such individuals as Gandhi can be quoted, for example that he said "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." Even if Gandhi never actually said any such thing, it's widely believed that he did say it, and this is a point that is important to understand in itself, but my main point is that we should all repent, follow Jesus, understand how serious it is if our sins will make people turn away from God when they see us as examples of Christianity. We should all strive to become innocent as doves, but wise as snakes. We should all turn our back to this world and the things of this world. We should never be on the side of ignorance or evil in any way, or be seen to support any of this. Amen.
This post is not meant as a political argument in any way, but just me sharing my thoughts and pouring out of the things on my heart, of something I see as very important. I won't take part in any arguments for or against any kind of political ideas. I only wish for fellow brothers and sisters to also pray for a world in 2021 with less division, where people don't have to be fearful and worried, that lies are not presented as truth and that people won't be confused about any of this anymore. I wish for my child to grow up in a world with peace, and also wish the same for other peoples children. That there still will be time to turn to Jesus for anyone that long for the things only He can give us. Amen.
