One thing is "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;" II COR 10:5

We're to take every thought captive.. When I first read that Scripture, I thought I can't. But even that thought is against Scripture . So learned I can with God's help. We replace some thoughts with Scripture.

So true, to take every thought captive.

"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior," I Tim 2:1-2

If we can't pray and give thanks for all men including leadership, it reveals areas in our hearts that need to be taken care of by the Lord.

"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks." Luk 6:45

Today it's so easy to see their hearts in the news, media but I am responsible for my heart's condition with God's help.

"Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you." (John 20:21) Jesus said "... Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15) "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." (Matt 10:8).

I do believe Jesus was certainly giving strong recommendation to one particular purpose, and not so much a solemn affair, but engaged and vigilant, what we commonly refer to as - Pentecostalism! :)

For without Pentecost, if I'm not mistaken, there was no Baptism in the Spirit.

'I long so much to feel the touch of His consuming fire. To be used of God is my desire' We used to sing this chorus taught at a convention in the late 60s at Slough with Pastor W T H Richards

To be witnesses for Christ in order to allow the 'church' to grow/flourish and more people brought into the family of Christ.

James 1:1 writes... 'scattered abroad'. It comes from the Greek word (diaspora) meaning to disperse and witness Christ onto others. It could be in your home, your community, your place of work, who you phone, where you walk, where you drive to and maybe even onto the mission field. Only the Lord knows..

Notice though, that although James is writing to the Twelve Tribes scattered abroad, its not only for the Hebrews, the Gospel is also for the Gentiles. Acts 11:19-21 tells us that Gentiles also believed and turned unto the Lord.

god bless

"When angry, do not sin; do not ever let your wrath (your exasperation, your fury or indignation) last until the sun goes down." Eph 4:26

To apply this scripture, a couple agreed to BOTH apologize before 10 pm when they have any disagreement.

that's a good verse. We can very easily say the wrong thing to someone and wonder if we've done more damage than good. Christ will let us know if we've said the wrong thing, we'll know and we'll apologise, even quote a comforting piece of scripture to that person, etc.

Amen
