Now you are making things up. America was never mentioned in the Bible. For the rest you comment, well it is not the topic. Israel did not invade North America and wipe out the native Americans. It was England.
??? Well whatever you want to believe...and btw I am part Native American and my daughter is even more degree than myself and we have not been wiped out.
If you want more information on Native American History then pm me and I will be happy to share.

You didn't say youngest "colony", youngest "country". You referenced when the US became independent (i.e. 1776). That isn't when we were colonized, it's when we became a country.

Comparing when the US became a country to when other areas were colonized is nonsensical, especially when you phrase it as "the US is the youngest country".

You provided a bunch of information, but none of it supports your claim that the US is the youngest country.
As you want to see it. It is a very young nation compared to South America, The Asian Countries, Europe and Africa.

If we are going by date of colonization as if Europeans moving in are the standard of civilization, San Juan, Puerto Rico was established in 1521 predating anything in Canada.

If you want to argue for pre-Columbian people’s, United States still most likely predates everyone else. Records are bad going this far back but it appears the first humans to arrive in the Americas came across the Bering Strait or possible land bridge at the time and were settling in what is now Alaska before anything else.

Honestly, independent nation is what makes the most sense, since your post states the United States was the youngest “country” (your word).
What was the question?

What was the question?

Is the United States the youngest country in the world like you claimed in Post #139?

No matter how you slice it, independent nation, colonization, or first indigenous people’s the answer is always “no.”

"nation" is a synonym of "country". South America is a continent, as is Africa. Europe and Asia are parts if a continent.

There are LOTS of nations (countries) in each of those continents that are younger than the United States (which is a nation or country).

Back to the topic....America is young compared to other world countries and has learned from her mistakes and continues to ensure the rights of all people within the boundaries of the laws and constitution.

I think the topic was America is still young and has made great strides towards the rights of everyone in comparison to some countries who still oppress their own people and limit their freedoms.
But somehow it got turned into a totally different topic.

We do all right--the Cato Institute (a right-wing think tank) ranks us at 15th.

At least the power over it...and wanting to take more. At what percentage rate would we need to be taxed in order to be considered state owned slaves? Some folks would say 100%, and I get that logic. My number is 51%, as if someone (or something else) owns half of my labor and the fruits thereof, then the majority of me is owned by them. Hey, slaves got free healthcare, housing, and food...sounds really familiar in 2020 too.
By that metric, you're a slave to corporations, because the vast majority of your productivity is kept by your employee instead of being remunerated.

America is such a young country compared to the rest of the world and continues to grow in a positive direction. Making amendments and passing legislation to protect the wrongs of the past.
In 2076 we will be 300 years old...the youngest country in the world....still have many things to work on.
But by God's Grace we will overcome!
The USA is not the youngest country in the world. Australia, for example, was first colonised 12 years after the declaration of independence.

Canada is much older than 150
Was Canada founded before America?
The two European countries who were most present in Canada were Britain and France. These two countries explored, claimed lands and fought over various places in North America. They then established colonies in the land. The first colony to be established was the colony of Canada, established by France in 1535.
If you go by first colony, then the USA is over 400 years old.

Teach people to think skeptically. Real skepticism not cynicism.
I've found that for many people, "skepticism" means to be completely unwilling to even consider something to be true unless it supports their bias.

There's never enough of facts for the skeptic when it comes to stuff he opposes, but every little bit of information that supports his world view becomes PROOF and TRUTH.

"Make America Great Again" is a racial slur.

"Make America Great Again.". Go back to the days of segregation. Slavery. Jim Crow Laws. Lynchings. Native American genocide.
And apparently before women could vote. I'd like to think this is just unintentional based on an ignorance of history, but these days who knows?

That’s not skepticism.
Of course it isn't. It's alternative skepticism, and there's loads of it around, even on this forum.

Just look at almost any news thread. You get one side of people demanding more facts because it conflicts with their bias (there are never enough facts) and the other one seeing it as proof for their bias.
