I’m sure that’s fair.
Sounds like you should sit down with your accountant and find ways to minimize your taxes. The fact that you apparently haven't is your fault, not President Trump's.

How much more income tax than Donald Trump did you pay in 2016?

Nope. I pay my fair share and pay an accountant handsomely to make sure I don’t pay a penny more. I’m happy to pay my fair share of taxes, in fact I consider it my civic duty. How about you? How much more in taxes did you pay than Donald Trump in 2016?
If you paid more than he did, does that mean you need to sit down with your accountant and find a way to pay less than Donald Trump paid? Or are you civic minded enough to step up and pay your personal tax obligation?

If I knew I could’ve deducted $100,000 for hair styling I sure would have!
Because, everyone knows $100,000 is a perfectly reasonable amount to pay someone over a year to style your hair, especially because it is a required business expense allowed under the tax code to have styled hair if you’re a businessman like me.

It wasn't 100x, bro.

Or are you civic minded enough to step up and pay your personal tax obligation?
I pay not one penny more than I am legally obligated to. If there is a legal way to pass less in taxes, you can bet I will take it. The only civic duty I have is to obey the law 100%... while keeping as much of my money as possible.

President Trump was a media figure even then. His haircuts probably were a legit business expense. And if he has receipts that substantiate his costs (and I would imagine that he does) and if the law allows him to write them off (ditto) then I don't see the problem.

It wasn't 100x, bro.

But it was more, right? How much more?

50x?
20X?
10x?

Should someone who earns 100x mor money than the next guy pay 100x Les tax than that guy?

is that your assertion?

That The burden to fund government should be squarely upon the shoulders of the millions in the working middle class and working poor, and the roughly 100 families who earn over 50% of the income in this country should get a free ride?

Again, is this your position?

I pay not one penny more than I am legally obligated to. If there is a legal way to pass less in taxes, you can bet I will take it. The only civic duty I have is to obey the law 100%... while keeping as much of my money as possible.

Can’t see where I disagree with this, for I do the same. So I’m not sure what your objection is?

There are Too many bald media figures to make that a cogent argument.

It's almost like I avoided that element of your post, choosing not to provide a more specific answer. Weird, eh? Almost makes you think it was intentional, doesn't it?

I don't care who pays for it as long as I pay as little as possible while obeying the law.

Can’t see where I disagree with this, for I do the same. So I’m not sure what your objection is?
To refresh your memory, one of us is "happy" to pay taxes. The other sees it as a burden to be avoided as much as legally possible.

What scares you about it?

you just want The closest thing to a free ride as you can get. Well you’re not alone... a lot of people seem to want that.

To refresh your memory, one of us is "happy" to pay taxes. The other sees it as a burden to be avoided as much as legally possible.

Yes, one of us striving to get as close to a free ride as possible and the other has a more noble civic minded “We the people” approach.

I understand the difference perfectly.
You’ve done a fantastic job illuminating it for us.

Right. I do see the difference between us, and understand how that difference might play out in each of our lives.
For example,
Each of us meets up with a few friends to go out to dinner.
Each of us orders what we want off the menu.

When the Bill comes to my table, my friends and I all pay for our own share.

When the bill comes to your table, you excuse yourself to the restroom, and slip out that back, sticking your friends with your share as well as theirs, because that is legal and a good way for you to pay as little as possible, making you the "smart one" in your group for legally freeing yourself of the burden of paying your share, and the rest are suckers full of envy for not thinking and acting smart like you, and for that they deserve to be saddled with the burden of paying your share as well as their own.

Yes, you and I have a very different worldview about this.

I might be more open to the idea of taxation if I had control over which programs my tax monies went to and which ones they don't. But until that great and glorious day, no, I will seek to minimize my tax burden in every possible legal way. I have no regrets.

Noted... and it seem like you don't regret taking whatever you want from whichever program you want either, regardless of how much or little you put into the pot.

It does seem to be the American way.

Pay as little into the pot as possible and take as much from the pot as you can.

Privatize the Profits/Benefits, Socialize the Costs/Losses.
