God`s Plan.

God`s plan is that all rule come under the Lord Jesus Christ. His Lordship is to be pre-eminent over all.

God, `made known to us the mystery of His will,...
that...He might gather together in one all things in Christ.`
(Eph. 1: 10)

The outworking of this is called the restoration of all things.

`the times of restoration of all things,..`
(Acts 3: 21)

This `restoration of all things,` involves not only the restoring of man & the earth to their former glory but amazingly also includes restoration in higher realms. These heavenly realms that were contaminated by Satan & his angels will also be cleansed & authorities put in place under the Lord Jesus Christ.

`For He (Christ) must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.`
(1 Cor. 15: 25)

The timetable for this `restoration,` begins when Christ leaves the Father`s throne and comes for the Body of Christ.

`that He (God) may send Jesus Christ....
whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things...`
(Acts 3: 20 & 21)

The setting of the Body of Christ in the third heaven as Kings & Priests on thrones, marks the first realm to be restored under Christ`s rule. This is the thrones & dominions realm.

The other two realms, the Universe (Principalities & Powers) & the earth, are the next realms to come under the Lordship of Christ.

God unfolded His plan a bit at a time to different people & we are privileged to be able to read of this throughout His word.

`the times of restoration of all things,
which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets
since the world began.`
(Acts 3: 21)

I get the sense that the restoration of all things is the New Heaven and the New Earth.

Hi Michael,

Yes, however the restoring of rightful rulership has to be done first for God to then bring in the New Heavens and New Earth.

Already a done deal ....

MATTHEW 28:18-20 (KJV and NRSV) And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.

Hi elos,

Yes a good point, however that is the Lord in the Godhead over all. Then we know that the Lord will have His `own throne,` authority under the Father, where He will be visibly ruling with His other Kingpriests, (His Body). And that has not happened yet.

From there rulers, in the principality and powers realm, and on the earth, will be put down. This all takes time. So it is a process that begins with the visible rulership of Christ in the third heaven.

I tend to phrase it as the creation week for the new heaven and new earth needs to be completed.

I've noticed that the end sequence in revelation follows the sequence in the garden quite closely.

Hi Michael,

I agree that there is a lot similar regarding the garden and revelation, however we need to take in all of the Lord`s work written about in His word. The rulership of the third heaven is further back in revelation, (Rev. 4 & 5) for that is necessary for the Lord to then start to put down all rebellious rule and authority, not only on the earth but in the heavens also.

God`s plan involves all His great kingdom and not just the earth.

I am not sure if you are a dominionist thinking the church will take that authority and then Jesus will come as some do hold that view. I am seeing the antichrist rise and the tribulation play out and then the LORD comes and is treading the winepress of His wrath and the angels will proclaim the kingdom of this world have become the kingdoms of the LORD and His Christ and he shall rule forever. Satan tempted Jesus and offered him all teh kingdoms of the world in a time and noted they had been delivered to him and he could give them to whomever he wished. Jesus did not dispute that fact and refused to worship. In 2 Thes 2 we see the man of sin is given power by Satan and he is revealed in the Temple and is destroyed by the brightness of the 2nd coming of the LORD. In Rev the beast is given authority over every tribe tongue kindred and nations for 42 months. He too is destroyed at the 2nd coming of Jesus/ This is how it is going to play out.

Do you mean marriageless procreation?

God said be fruitful and multiply in Genesis. Why would that change on earth? We are talking about earth, not Paradise or the New Jerusalem. The New Jerusalem is the church made up of Adam's descendants.

The temple of God does not include those on the earth. God still carries out on earth procreation. We do not know the why. We only know the means of God's Temple. The Atonement on the Cross. It is more than just the restoration of Adam's descendants.

No I'm talking about the new earth, it's not a restoration of ALL things because those 2 things aren't part of it.

The restoration of all things comes into whole fulfillment in the New Heaven and the New Earth.

Since there is a New Heaven and New Earth, the creation process is the same because the Creator is the same. From this perspective, we see the types and Shadows - but from God's perspective it all looks the same.

Hi Jamdoc,

Actually you are thinking of no marriages in heaven, whereas on the earth there will be as before the fall.

And the oceans, yes no sea, (Rev. 21: 1) on the earth as you say. For what reason? Mmmmm maybe more lakes with a view? (lol)

Hi eleos,

Yes the Lord is presently at the right hand of the Father, however in God the Father`s time He will send Jesus to bring His Body to the third heaven where His Son will VISIBLY rule and reign.

Note that detail. The Lord Jesus is at the moment on the Father`s throne, (the Godhead, invisible, Spirit) but will take up His `own throne,` His authority given of the Father, to VISIBLY rule over all, (under the Father). (Rev. 3: 21)

Hi Brian,

I am definitely NOT a dominionist. I agree with you. The `right rulership` is by the Lord as 1 Cor. 15: 24 - 27 tells us.

Hi Tim,

I agree that there will be marriages on the new earth as before the fall. Why? because God saw it was good and as God is fruitful, creative he desires that people on the earth be also.

Now the New Jerusalem has 2 parts.

1. Mount Zion in the third heaven for rulership - the Body of Christ.
2. The city which comes down from God - the Old Testament saints.

Adam and those who turn to God, (eg. the great multitude in Rev. 7 from the great trib.) also those who never knew of Christ and lived according to their right conscience, and unborn babes will all go on the new earth.

Hi Michael,

However you have missed out the part where the rulership in the angelic realm is restored. Remember Lucifer, a kingpriest, was cast out and since then there has been no VISIBLE ruler in that realm. Thus that rulership needs to be restored.

Yes the Godhead is overall and the Lord Jesus has been given all rule and authority, however He has not taken that position in the angelic realm, (third heaven). He is overall, but the Father desires His Son to rule VISIBLY with His Body from that realm. Then He shall begin to put down all rule and authority and power and present the kingdom back to the Father so that God may be `all in all.` (as we know)

That sounds odd since Jesus said all power in heaven and earth was given to Him ... so the first part seems unnecessary and is too lucifer centric.

The bible tends to focus on humans because it is written to us, and about the earth because we live here.

Centering the focus on angels is off thesis - Jesus is the thesis.

Well no it's not just heaven, it's after the resurrection.
Matthew 22:30
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Luke 20:34-36
34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

So once resurrected, marriage and children are no longer possibilities. I wish someone had asked Jesus more on this but the Sadducees only seemed to care about marriage as a means of getting heirs for inheritance purposes.

But either way, Jesus said no marriage after the resurrection, and also no oceans in the new earth. Both are up there in "Jesus tells us bad news" right up there with "In this world ye shall have tribulation" and "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake."
