There are a lot of sins that don't specifically get mentioned. More often than not sins only get a mention when they needed to be highlighted, which implies that pedophilia is not going to turn up because of the general way that the Jewish people treated their children.

Racism in terms of skin colouring doesn't seem to have been much of an issue then or later. There is plenty of ethnic racism, though but wars were fought between ethnic groups so ill feelings would be expect.

For the Christian both of those would fall outside of the category of "Love your neighbour as yourself", so be naturally sinful.

Yes. Racism (a modern ill born from the "scientific era") is merely a category of social bigotry, and "Neither Jew nor Gentile" adequately covers the racism issue, as it is the primary social bigotry that Paul's congregations experienced. Between "Neither Greek nor Jew" "neither free nor slave" and "neither male nor female," he pretty much covered all the bases of his time.

Moreover, that particular pattern of repetition was the rhetorical method of saying, "Everything in every way." The writer of Hebrews does that a couple of times. It's the same rhetoric as Jesus saying "Seventy times seven."

Both racism and pedophilia (which are somewhat modern concepts - certainly racism is) are sins that are included in the commandment that we shall not murder. This commandment means that we should fear and love God so that we do not hurt or harm our neighbor in his body, but help and support him in every physical need.

i think when moses married a ethiopian woman it was criticized and those people were humiliated outside the camp

Well truth there are SO many "sins" not written. If it helps what ever is not of faith is sin. What ever God tells us to do and we don't do it =sin. Missing the mark.

The Bible is eternal, it does not deal with all the variations of sin. When we were first created, there is only one race, and as the world progresses, due to locations etc, there are many races, but as the world progresses eventually there will be one mixed race again.

The Bible address the race problem (and all other sins) with one commandment, "Love your neighbors as yourself".

It is not race, as they all know back then what Moses married is from a branch of Noah. The issue there is jealousy, from sister to brother in the same family :(

Wasnt James, racist?, Paul seems to be angry with him and Peter. Maybe it is a sin.

Perhaps pedophilia was so taboo that no one did it, therefore it was not a problem? I can only imagine how they might kill someone for something like that.

With the racism thing, I don't think it was a problem either. To my knowledge, no one really cared about making their race the subject of a topic or speech. I, at least, never seen anything that talks about race. You have to remember that when the Bible was written, people stayed in their countries which meant that they seen people with their own skin color.

This reminds me of the human zoos that once populated a lot of the world. Strange people would be placed behind bars for others to see. Why? Because it was so strange to see a black person or the alike.

Racism, as a topic, is relatively new to our speech platters and it wasn't a topic spoken about until at least the 1940's as this chart says
Firefox_Screenshot_2020-09-11T08-16-29.110Z.png

However! if I type in slavery, look what pops up! All of the way back to the 1500's. The peak was 1862 (aka the US Civil war)

Firefox_Screenshot_2020-09-11T08-20-33.293Z.png

Hope this helped. Maybe the PC notion of slavery only showed up in the 1940's while the actual practice has been around at least until the 1500's or more? Who knows.

You can always refer back to Jesus' teaching:

Matthew 22:37-40: "37Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ c 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ d 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Scripture touches both. Pedophilia would b3 covered under rape, homosexual and fornication laws. Racism is directly addressed in both the 10 commandments (which requires strangers be treated fairly under the law) and by Jesus when he spoke to the Samaritan woman. The Jews thought of the Samaritans as half breeds and treated them appallingly. That Jesus spoke with one was shocking to the disciples.

Peter was shocked further after that day on the roof ...

Also, Jesus' command to make disciples from all nations.

People pushing for continued racial separation, even within the Body of Christ, point to God's creation of differing nations at the tower of Babel as God's direction to separate people groups.

But they ignore that Jesus commanded the Church to being all people groups back together as a single chosen nation. That doesn't happen to the world at large--the world at large is still affected by Babel--but it's supposed to happen within the Body of Christ.

And that is supposed to be one of the major clear differences between the Body of Christ that is obvious to the world: That different people groups share a single love for one another.

That is why at the end of the recounting in Acts of the early Church resolving the longstanding issue of Hebraic Jews versus Hellenist Jews, scripture abruptly ends the account with:

So [that is, "in this way"], the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith. -- Act 6

People who didn't love each other before in the world displayed love for each other in the Body of Christ. Christians are supposed to "love surprisingly."

Right. All of God's elect are part of Christ's spiritual nation. We should be greeting one another as brothers in Christ rather than adversaries based on trivial things such as race and ethnicity. The Apostles in Acts taught against this when the office of deacon was created. It was created ostensibly because Greek Christians weren't being treated the same as Jewish Christians. The Apostles and ministers, realizing they did not have time to preach and serve peoples physical needs, created the office of deacon in accordance with guidance from the Holy Ghost.

These and all sins are covered in the primary commandments..... Love God with all your heart....and Your neighbor as yourself.

When internalized, one would only try to have relations with a minor, if they would desire it to happen with their own children.....or themselves, when they were a minor. And there are a few cases in which they wouldnt mined the same with themselves or their children.....and in these cases, it would not be sin if the law permits.

Likewise, it would be ok to judge others negatively because of the color of their organs, if you desire to be judges negatively for the color of your own....

I do not agree. If it was true, all Christians would agree on definitions. Which is clearly not the reality we live in.

I may agree that the Holy Spirit inclines people towards better opinions, generally. But not to specifics or to details.
If it were true, only a few would agree. Mass agreement is for the multitudes, not the one who find the narrow path.

pedophila would fit into the general prohibition against any sex outside of marriage. And marriage in the OT days was done very strictly, their were no child brides etc. unlike later day day, Post Christian Judaism.

Racism would likewise be seen in terms of commandments against treating foreigners harshly, unmercifully etc. As well as the Golden Rule, which origins date before Christ in scriptures from the Pentateuch, Deuterocanonical books, and early Rabbinic Tradition.

Racism itself is a modern construct. The Ancients were not concerned about race but about nationality!

Exactly.

I once heard a sermon on how Jesus made the apostles travel thru Samaria which was distasteful to the apostles. Plus there is the Good Samaritan parable which today might be comparable to preaching a Good African American parable in a Klan Rally.

How many threads is this that you have brought up pedophilia in trying to make it not really as bad as it is and trying to get sympathy for them??? I've lost count. Again, as I asked several times on the last thread, why the preoccupation with pedophilia?

The context is Christians, i.e. people on the narrow path already.
except the narrow path is an individual endeavor one takes when they are chosen.....unrelated to the religion one choses on their own....

I think you accidentally were quoting my post but intended to quote the op. I got a notification that you quoted me but I never expressed sympathy for child molesters neither here nor in any other thread. :)
