'For neither did His brethren believe in Him' John 7:5
'For neither did His brethren believe in Him' John 7:5
John 7:5 was not written as a testimony about their state after their death, so we cannot conclude that they did not believe later. They did not believe in the context of John 7.'For neither did His brethren believe in Him' John 7:5

Acts 1:14'For neither did His brethren believe in Him' John 7:5
I've always found this question interesting or at least wondering about them.We do know this what Jesus said, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. So that would mean being too familiar or the natural mind tends to not accept a relative can be anything better than they.Unlike Mary and Joseph, why did Jesus brethren not believe in him while He was alive and teaching. They were not there to even support their mother as their brother went through the agony of the cross as such Jesus asked one of His disciples to take care of His mother and she began to live with him afterwards John 19:26-27

One would expect that Mary and Joseph did not keep what happened with Jesus secret, but told their children as they were growing up.Do you have siblings? It's normal to think that your siblings are "the same as you", nothing super-special. Would you believe your brother if he told you that he's the son of God? Or would you think that he's either mentally ill or - if there are no other signs of a mental illness - that he is horribly conceited?

Mary and Joseph were well aware of who Jesus was right from conception, Mary was told by an Angel, Joseph was also told in a dream, both were told again by Simon, Anna, the three wise men, Jesus also grew in wisdom; teaching in a Synagogue at 12. They knew. It's unlikely they didn't tell his siblings about Him as they grew.
