I see that the newsletter from which you got that title is put out by a man who is lauded (on the website) for his journalistic doings by the likes of Joe Scarborough, Chuck Todd, and Arianna Huffington. Could there be three less convincing endorsers in the news business than those three?

Since you can't attack Fox News, who the article is about, you do an ad hominem logical fallacy -- attacking the source rather than the information?

The issue you have is that the newsletter is correct; Fox News does claim they verified the information the newsletter claims they did. Fox confirmed, as the newsletter claims, that the President did say things like, "What’s in it for them? They don’t make any money?" and that wounded veterans are "not a good look;" as well as saying about Vietnam, “It was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker.”

Now, Fox did cast doubt on Trump's claiming that the war dead at Aisne-Marne or in the battle of Bellau Wood were "losers" or "suckers," though the newsletter did not claim that Fox did. It is further worth noting that Fox did confirm that Trump cancelled the trip to Bellau Wood because he didn't want to go, that the White House claims blaming it on the Secret Service are false.

Does this really surprise anyone? What aggravates me is that in 2016 the Republicans had like 14 candidates and this is what they picked. And it was not as if they did not know what they were getting.

I call it "incomprehensible".

I'm wondering if having "Never Trump" included in my epitaph would give future generations some peace of mind about their ancestor.

Yeh, I caught that classic of fake news this afternoon.

Did you notice that, based on the events it is supposed to be about, the "news" is years old?

But it was only this week, when the good news came out that the economy is far exceeding expectations, that the opponents of the President felt it was high time to spring something that will keep that encouraging economic news in the background.

You want to call it fake news, but other news outlets have verified it.

It is old, but it is in line with the character that many of us have seen before.

I am just surprised that more enlisted people are now catching on.

I called it fake news because it didn't pass the smell test. It was unverifiable. Witnesses denied the truth of the claim. And the timing of the news report clearly shows planning.

I think you’re right. History will not be kind to Trump or to the Republican Party under his watch.

I'm wondering if having "Never Trump" included in my epitaph would give future generations some peace of mind about their ancestor.

You know, that’s a good idea.

[STAFF EDITED DELETED QUOTE]
That's true, but we always wonder how many people will be taken in by the ruse, even if most see through it.

Some apparently were taken in by the Russia Russia Russia hoax. And some were taken in by the Ukraine story that was made up for the purpose of the impeachment. So it's likely some voters can be deceived by this one, too.

Anyway, the whole story about the creation of this week's smear has already been revealed:

Atlantic Owner Is Biden Megadonor, Close To Story’s Author. Sixth Witness, Trump Opponent, Disputes Story.

Next week it'll be something else, in just the same fashion as any good advertising agent would schedule the release of his commercials:

But then Trump mused that Kelly May have been the leaker, giving away that he believes it came from someone in the White House, and not something a reporter just made up.

I read Kelly refused to comment, which is telling. If it was false he would just say so.
Also you don't leak lies. You plant or make them up. Saying he leaked it or is the source is also confirmation, IMO.
