I have a certain passage in mind that when I read it the first time it gave me an impression similar to "even if your sad or hurt the gospel message and/or following God is more important."
There is a consistent message throughout the Scriptures that endurance has its reward. The service is the to the Truth, as Yeshua and His emissaries continually stated. The N`vi`im anguished greatly over the message they were given and were persecuted for. Let's not forget Moshe, Yosef, Noach, and so many others, who worked in service of the Truth of HaShem and suffered for it.
If people hate you for the message you preach, know that Messiah, the Prophets, and so many other witnesses also were hated for it. Take comfort that you will have your reward, even as they will have it, in HaOlam HaBa. Even in this world, as Yeshua said, there is cause for joy when one is aggrieved by the despite of others on account of His Name, because the names of His own are recorded in the heavens.
Emotion is not the cause of failure. It is a resource used to impress a message to a world gone cold and emotionless. Yet, it is your tool, not your master.
