As far as I know, all the women on his list are black except for one.
He's been seeking out black women since the beginning so I don't think it will be a matter of caving in.

I'm going to guess it's "yes."

He was foolish enough to promise, without literally promising, to name a black woman, and he would be severely criticized if he did not follow through now.

I just don't think he can take that risk, especially because there does not appear to be a problem finding a black woman to run with. A number of those who have been named would be terrible choices, it's true, but there still are others that would not be damaging to his candidacy.

I don't think it's either one. I think he's doing what he thinks is the right thing to do for the nation.

Susan Rice is a heavyweight candidate in her own right regardless of her colour. She does not have a chip on her shoulder about her main selling point like Hilary Clinton did about being a woman. She carries the usual LGBT baggage of Democrats and could be a force for evil in that respect but on other issues she seems to be someone who could rebuild Americas networks and friendships after the Trump years. But faith does not seem to be anything like a priority in her life. But that is a problem throughout the Democrat party. She might be the best of a bad bunch.

He's between a rock and a hard place. If he selects a black woman he will lose a lot of white votes, and the election.

I don't think it's either one. I think he's doing what he thinks is the right thing to do for the nation.

By ruling out as VP more than 80% of the population from consideration? How is that the right thing to do for the country?

I mostly agree but she has an issue with not being able to hold her tongue (a big argument people have about Trump) and being very foul mouthed and insulting to others (again not unlike Trump).

I honestly can't think of a worse choice for PRESIDENT, so his running mate doesn't matter. I mean, the man literally has mental issues...
But anyway, we're still called to pray for him, and I hope he makes a wise decision regardless.

That is not necessarily true. Joe keeps moving further to the left and in doing so is alienating longtime centrist democrats. While they may not vote for Trump they may not vote for Biden either. He seems to be playing a dangerous game hoping he can capture more than he loses.

I think the independent voters are among the most likely to not favor a black VP. Most mainstream Dem voters will vote for Biden regardless of his pick.

It might be a tiebreaker for some people. I was undecided between Obama and McCain in 2008 until McCain chose Palin as a running mate.

Of course, that was a race between a moderate Democrat and a moderate Republican. This year is different; there probably aren't that many people who are undecided about Trump.
