I dunno, seems like a global pandemic, a fascist in the oval office, federal officers kidnapping people, the brutal oppression of protest. Sounds like being a little depressed might make a little bit of sense given just how absolutely nuts 2020 has been.

Michelle Obama admits to feeling depressed over the last few months.
I couldn't hold my thoughts back.
What are yours?
If it were not for Lord Jesus, I would be depressed also. Western society is on the path to self destruction. Voices of reason like Jordan Peterson are being suppressed. Marxism is an utterly failed philosophy but it's spreading like the Corona virus. It's worse because so many deluded people think it is right and the rest are being silenced.

I was surprised at what you posted and didn't agree with most of it. But then maybe I have my head in the sand. Or you are in Australia and don't know what is really going on here?
Just my thoughts not wanting to start anything. That's how I saw it.

Sure no offence but you've said it yourself. You might just have your head stuck in the sand.

My thoughts are that she might be the VP? A sure cure for her depression in my opinion. (though it surely will depress others)
I don't know, it could be. I thought she was going to run for president for a while. It wouldn't surprise me with Biden speaking of the people he was considering, she fell right in that category. I think that could insure his election if so but not for me, lol.

When I heard that on the news all I could think was,
Oh poor Michelle, thousands of people losing their jobs, homes and can't feed their families. Not to mention worrying about losing their lives and she is a little depressed. I got the impression her depression had nothing to do with the state of the world.
I am still heated about it. It just struck me wrong. Millionairess, with no real worries, worried about her little depression and that they thought that was big news out of all the other tragedies.
OH THE TRIALS OF THE RICH.

Depression is not something to laugh about or denigrate someone for. It is not a sign of weakness or spiritual failure. Anyone saying otherwise is parading ignorance. Good for her; when powerful people are open about their struggles it humanizes them and shows people that their own struggles are common and normal.

Well I do not fault you for your feelings. Many felt the same way about Ellen Degeneres, who was complaining how rough it was. Try to put yourself in a rich person's shoes though. They are restricted all the same. No running around or entertainment. I now that is a luxury to most of us, so for them it is even more of a life changer in that regard. They still have stuff, but it is like having a Rolls with no place to drive it. No big deal if I can't drive the beater around. So that is quite a fall for them. Even more so if you consider that they can't buy themselves out of a pandemic. Now of course that is nothing if you consider the poor guy who can't pay rent, can't afford health care, and is on the edge. All groups though still have losses though.

What parts do you not agree with? I listen to Jordan Peterson from time to time as well as others who are labelled "conservative", used as a pejorative. I know how entrenched the illiberal left has become in government and education. There is a pernicious undermining of individual freedoms that are making a mockery of democracy, here and in the USA. Canada is, if anything, worse. Marxism is a proven failure. That does not stop the neo-Marxists. Marxism had to be imposed by lies, deception and violence. Sounds a lot like BLM to me. They've taken a legitimate issue and are using it to undermine democracy, Christian values and the way of life chosen by most people. Cue outrage. Check out their published agenda and show me where I'm wrong.

The ultimate aim of the left is to shut down the preaching of the gospel. Already it's no permissible to teach creation in secular schools. That was not the case when I was in high school. I was allowed to make up my mind. Telling people that they are sinners is about to become hate speech. The rot has already set in in the Australian education system. The church here has reacted strongly and there have been some victories. I don't know about the USA.

That is simply absurd. The rest of the world does not see through your theological lens. Your assumptions cloud your thinking.

This assumes that depression is somehow contingent on one's material possessions, or lack thereof. I don't think depression is that picky. Sometimes depression isn't the result of circumstances, but of brain chemistry. At any rate, compassion is good starting place when hearing that someone suffers from depression.

We will see. I can assure you that I'm not alone in my concerns. And the world is blinded by Satan, so I don't take much note of what the world says.

Most of us know what's going on. Please don't take anything AP says as being remotely representative of Australians. For instance, you opened a thread for the entire purpose of denigrating and criticising someone for the sin of being depressed whilst rich and left, and then repeating unevidenced speculation about her getting involved in politics. Most of us are well aware of this kind of attitude amongst a large group of Americans that self identify as Christian.
